Shaker, Shaker…

Hello everyone!!! I’m super duper excited!! My card was chosen as one of the CAS(E) this Sketch Favorites yesterday!!!  I have to say this card is one of my favorite cards of all times.  The white and gold are so pretty together.  I’m so glad I participated.

I’m back today with CAS(E) this Sketch #82.  This sketch was created by N@ Ali.

CTS_Sketch82n

When I saw this sketch, I know I wanted to play with Mama Elephant’s Just Hatched stamp set.  I ordered it back in March when it was release but haven’t had a chance to use it.  So I saw it fitting to use it today.

Take a look at my card:

Chirp, Chirp

It’s a shaker card!!! This is the first time I’ve created a shaker card.  It wasn’t hard at all.  I have to thank Laura Bassen for the inspiration.  She always makes shakers cards look so easy to make.

1. I colored my chick with Copic markers # YR16, Y13, Y19, YG17.

2. My speech bubble was created using a die from Lawn Fawn’s Large Stitched Journaling Card Dies.

3. I stamped the sentiment on the card base using the die cut speech bubble as a reference so that the sentiment was centered.

4. A piece of acetate was attached to the front panel.

5. I added a lot of foam adhesive around the speech bubble so that the sequin wouldn’t fall out.  Adhesive was also added to the edge of the panel so that it will sit nice and neat on the card base.

So what do you think?  I’m impressed at my first shaker card.  I can’t wait to try this with a watercolor panel.

A Rainbow of “Butterflies”

Second post for today

Hello everyone! I’m back again with another post for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, Anything Goes!

For this card, I wanted to display Stampin’ Up! new In Colors and other products in a fun way.

Take a look:

A little something cute

I used Stampin’ Up!’s Elegant Butterfly Punch to punch out a butterfly from each of the new colors.

The sentiment comes from a new stamp set called Something To Say Wood Mount Stamp Set and I stamped it using the Lost Lagoon Ink.

I layered two different pieces of the new Moonlight DSP Stack on top of the Whisper White cardstock.

For the finishing touches, I added rhinestones to he butterflies.

Very easy to make.

So tell me, what do you think.

Air Mail..with LOVE!

Hello everyone! Good Afternoon on this bright and sunny day.  I love days like this.  The sun is out and I can bask in the sunshine. I just love that.

I’m here today with Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.   The theme is ANYTHING GOES! How great is that.  You can create anything you want.

Since I received my July Card Kit this week, I decided that I wanted to create my card with the Sending Happy Thoughts Stamp Set that is included in the kit.

I wanted to create a clean and simple card for this challenge.

Take a look at my card:

Sending Happy Mail

1. I used the envelopes from that stamp set, water-colored each envelope then cut them out.

2. I adhered them using dimensionals.

3. I stamped the sentiment and hearts.

4. I added rhinestones to envelopes and around the greeting.

I like how the card turned out but I can’t help but feel like something is missing from the top right corner.  Do you feel the same way?  If so, please let me know what you think should have gone there or if it is fine just the way it is.

WOW! What Color Is That?

Hello everyone!  I’m back again today, this time for the Muse Challenge #73.  The Muse for this week is Beverley Brown!

Take a look at Beverley Brown’s card:

Sending Happy Thoughts front

I wasn’t sure which picture I wanted to use so I decided to add both of them.

Sending Happy Thoughts

Beverley created a CAS card that I love. I love the simplicity of her card.

Beverley used multicolor in her butterflies, so I wanted my flowers to have that same multicolor look.  I used the baby wipe technique to create my multicolor flowers.

Then I stamped my sentiment with the same multicolor ink.

I had fun creating this card.  Soooo, what do you think?

Fresh & Fun Watercoloring!

Hello everyone!  Yes, yes, more water-coloring for me.  I love it.

I’m here today with CASology and their Cue Card is Wood!

Week 101 - Wood

Yes, wood.  I was wondering how can I use my favorite technique (WATERCOLOR) and wood.  Then a light bulb when off and I knew what I wanted to do.

Take a look at what I came up with:

Woodgrain hello

Yayyy, I was able to combine my water-coloring with woodgrain!!  I love it.

1. I used Simon Says Stamp woodgrain cardstock.

2. I stamped Papertrey Ink Splat hello stamp with Distress Inks.

3. I used my paint brush to smear the circles, so that they have a spilling look from one side of the circle.

4. I added some sequins and WALA, I was done.

So tell me what you think.  I would love to know.

Beauty Defined By You!

Hello everyone! I’m so excited!!!!  Do you want to know why?  Well, I’m about to tell you.

I was up all night last night working on……Yes, you guessed it..WATER-COLORING!!!  Yes, I have so much fun when I’m working with watercolors.

I was so excited to see that Less Is More Theme Challenge this week is WATER-COLORING.  How could I not join in on the fun.  I might have to create more than one card for this.  I have so much fun with this technique.

Well enough talking take a look at my card:

Thinking of you front

For this card I used my Koi Watercolors and a 1/2″ flat paintbrush. The colors that I used were #7, #4, #20 and #19.  To see what those colors are you can click here to see my swatch.

I also used my new Simon Says Stamp Set that came in the mail today.  I couldn’t wait to try it out.  It’s from their July Card Kit.

I added some sequins, rhinestones and rounded the corners.

I added my watercolor panel to my watercolor card base using Copic Marker -X-Press It High Tack Double Sided Tape.  I received this tape in my Copic Certification class and wanted to try it out.  It is super easy to tear and it holds the watercolor panel down, no lifting.  I will keep trying it out and let you know if it’s a good buy.

Easy Breezy 1-2-3!!!

So what do you think?

Pop of Color!

Third Post for the day!

Hello everyone! I’m back again today for the third time.  Can you tell I’m having fun!!!  Yes, I was up late last night playing around with my stamp supplies in my little stampin corner.  I created a couple of watercolor backgrounds and I knew I need to use one of them for my next card.

I’m here this evening with CASology.  They are celebrating their 100th challenge and all of the friendships they’ve made throughout this time.  I wanted to join in on this celebration so I created a card celebrating them!

Week 100 - Celebrate

So the cue word is CELEBRATE!!  So fitting for this great accomplishment.

Here is my clean and simple card:

Celebrate

I love how the gold matches the watercolor background.  I decided to use black ink for the sentiment because I wanted it to stand out from the background.

What do you think?

Dare To Dream..

Second Post for the Day

Hello everyone! I’m back again today with another card for the Muse Challenge #72.  The Muse this week was Marion Vagg.

IMG_2508

Her card is so whimsical and carefree.  I love how fun it looks.

As I sat down to create my card I wanted that same carefree, flowing feeling when I looked at my card.   I decided to use the Dream stamp set from Lawn Fawn.  The feathers gave me that free-flowing feeling.

Dream

I used Stampin’ Up’ new Lost Lagoon in color for my card base.  I wanted to stay in the same color family as Marion.

I stamped my images and then colored them with the Lost Lagoon marker so that my colors matched.

I adhered a strip of black cardstock tot he left side to tie everything together.

So what do you think?  Did I do a good job interpreting Marion’s card?

Fresh and Fun Stenciling..

Hello everyone! It’s Father’s Day!!  Happy Father’s Day to all of the dads out there and to the moms who do both job.  I’m one of those moms who play both roles.  So my kids take me out both days to celebrate, I love it!!

In any case , I’m here today playing along with Simon Says Stamp Wednesday’s Challenge. Their theme is Stencil It.

I used a Heidi Swapp stencil and Stampin’ Up!’s new in colors to create my card.

Take a look:

Way To Go

I love how the three colors I used blended together.  I’m really excited about Stampin’ Up!’s new in colors.  They are really great colors to work with.

You will see much more of these colors.

Can’t Get Enough Of Butterflies..

Hello everyone!  I’m so excited to be back again with another entry for Papertrey Ink’s Make it Monday #168: Baby Wipe Stamping.

Yesterday, I created an extra butterfly so I’m using that butterfly on my card today!  I paired my butterfly up with my new stamp set from Stampin’ Up! Work of Art and the new in colors.  Beautiful!!

You are a fabulous work of art

After viewing what others have done with their cards, I’m going to try some of my other stamps.  I thought you needed to have a coordinating die for this technique but my fellow card makers show me otherwise.
