So Suzy Stamps Happy Birthday Blog Hop

Happy Birthday So Suzy

Holy cow!  Can you believe it is out FIRST birthday?!  Yep, last year, on April 20th, Suzy opened her online shop and things have been rolling from there!  In that year, she has seen her first customer (Courtney Schloss), her first Design Team, and first brick and mortar shop along with a bunch of new friends!

If you arrived from So Suzy Stamps blog, then you are on the right track.  If this is your first stop, then head on over to So Suzy Stamps blog so that you don’t miss out on your chance to win our awesome prizes.

To help celebrate So Suzy Stamps Birthday, I created this card using one of her first sentiment stamps release last year.

Happiness is

Take a look at the card I created for this hop:

(Wow, can you believe I took this photo at 1:46am.  In totally darkness. Thanks to my new Foldio.  I will do a separate blog post about it.)

I wanted my card to be super clean and simple.  I choose to stamp two roses because we are looking forward to year number two!!

I stamped my roses with My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink Pad.

Then I used Copic Marker YR02, YR04, YR07 to color my roses.

On the inside of my card I used Simon Says Stamp Sending and Wishing Stamp set to add the sentiment using the same ink.

Super simple, elegant and pretty!!  Happy Birthday So Suzy Stamps!!  I wish you many more!!

Now on to our super fun day!

Light It Up Blue For Autism Awareness Blog Hop!

Light up for Autism Awarness

Hello and welcome to the Light It Up Blue For Autism Awareness Blog Hop!

Big thanks to Veronica and Tenia for putting this hop together!!

I wanted to be apart of this amazing event because I believe so many people need to become more aware of what Autism is and how it affects family’s.

I have a cousin who has autism and he is just the sweetest kid ever!!!  His mom and sister are his caretakers and man I tell you they are amazing individuals.  There is nothing they can’t do!!  Nothing holds them back from living life to the fullest no matter what people say.  Unfortunately, we have some family members who do not understand what Autism is and they don’t really want to find out.  They aren’t evil people, its just when you are not directly affect by something its easy to disregard it.  That is why education is so important.  Getting the word out about Autism is important.  That is why I’m here!

Shout outs to you Nicky, Ashley and Tyler!!

As a Health Educator by trade, here are some interesting facts about Autism:

1. Autism affects one in every 50 schoolchildren in the United States.

2. Autism is more common then childhood cancer, diabetes and AIDS combined.

3. One common myth is that individuals with autism are not affectionate.  This is not true.  Although, they may be oversensitive to touch, they can and do show affection.  Tyler hugs me every time he sees me.

4. Roughly half, or 49%, of children with autism attempt to elope form safe environment, a rate nearly four times higher then their unaffected siblings.

5. Between 2009 and 2011, accidental drowning accounted for 91% total US deaths reported in children with autism subsequent to wandering.

We have so many fantastic sponsors that have shown their support for Autism Awareness and you can see the complete list here.

If you would like a chance to win a prize from one of these fabulous companies leave a comment on this blog, and any of the other blogs participating in today’s hop! Winners will be chosen at random and will be announced on Monday April 6.

Now here is the card I created for today’s hop:

Love Life

It was super easy to create this card.  I used Laura Bassen’s smooching technique and a very small clear square block.

1. I started with Distress Ink Salty Ocean.

2. I added the ink to a small clear square block.  Then I spayed the block and smooched it down onto my watercolor paper.

3. I repeated those steps 9 times, changing the colors in between.  I let it sit and dry.

4. Once my squares blocks dried, I stamped my sentiment using  Winnie and Walter The Big, the Bold, and the Happy stamp in the center of my blocks.

I love how this card turned out. The sentiment says it all.  We have to learn to “Love Life” no matter what hand we are dealt.  No judging! No smirking!

What is a blog hop without a giveaway!!!

I giving away two gift baskets full of great fun!  For those of you who knows me, knows that I’m a mug giving person.  I love mugs so when I fine unique ones I love to share.  So these baskets will have a pretty mug full of Starbucks goodies!!

Here is a photo of my last mug giveaway:

Important notice:  These will not be the same mugs, I never give the same mug twice.  I didn’t have a chance to photograph today’s mugs.  This is just an idea of what your gift will look like.  I will update the photo soon.

So Suzy Stamps April Release Blog Hop

April Blog Hop

Hello everyone!! I’m here with So Suzy Stamps.  Welcome to the full reveal and blog hop of So Suzy Stamps April Release!!  If you arrived here from So Suzy Stamps blog, then your on the right track.  If you arrived randomly, the blog hop starts at So Suzy Stamps blog.  Yuu don’t want to miss out on any of my design team members cards.  They did a fabulous job.

Check out the card I created for this hop:

Happy Birthday

I used the Girl on the Swing Stamp to create my card.  This little girl is so cute.  I had to take my time and color her.

I have to admit I messed up just a little bit.  Instead of using my new MFT Hybrid Black Ink or my Memento Black Ink, I used the VersaFine Black Onyx and stamped my image.

Big no, no!  The black ink bleeds. When I realized what happen, I was already to far gone with my coloring. I just took my sweet time and tried not to touch the stamped edge.

That was hard to do.  The image is so intricate that I had to get really close.  Never again will I make that mistake!!

In any case, she turned out well.  This card is a very CAS card.  Your attention is drawn to the girl on the swing.

Here is how I created this card:

1. I cut my cardstock to 4.25 x 5.50 scored at 4.25.

2. I used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle Die to cut out my circle off of the side of my card front.

3. I stamped my So Suzy Stamps Girl on the Swing image inside the circle cut out.

4. I used Copic Markers to color my image:

Dress, shoes and antennas: V01, V04, V06

Winks: BG11, BG13, BG15

Swing Bench: E13, E15

Swing String: C3

Skin: Eoo, E11

Hair: E33, E35

5. I attached Stampin’ UP! Coastal Cabana Bakers Twine to the top of my card.

6. I added Your Next Stamp Crystal Clear Gumdrops for added interest.

7. The sentiment is from Your Next Stamp Whatnot Sentiments Set.

I did a sneak peak of one of the new stamps a couple of weeks ago.  Check out that card here.

Easy Peasy!! Now its your turn to play along with us!  Oh wait, I didn’t tell you what the new challenge will be this month!!

Our new challenge is all about Birthday’s. So come one and all and create those super awesome birthday cards. You can link up your project on So Suzy Stamps blog.

Happy Birthday Surprise!!!

Suzanne's Birthday

Hello everyone!  I’m excited about this blog post today.  Today is Suzanne’s Birthday!!  Who is Suzanne, better know as Suzy,  you asked?  Well let me tell you!

She is the owner of So Suzy Stamps and she has no idea that her Design Team is throwing her a Surprise Birthday Blog Hop.

This is the first stop on this hop!!  I’ve listed all of the participants at the end of this post just in case you miss a stop!  Each of the design team members created a birthday card for Suzy to show how much we really appreciate her.

What is a blog hop without some prizes!!  We are giving away a $15 So Suzy Stamps Gift Certificate and a free one month subscription to El Atelier de Stampartpapel to 2 lucky winners who leaves a comment on each of the blogs for a chance to win by February 22nd, 2015 by 11:59pm.   The winners will be chosen at random and announced on Monday, February 23rd at 12noon on the So Suzy Stamps Blog.  The winners will have 2 weeks to claim their prize.

Now onto the card I created for our fearless and super fun leader:

Happy Birthday Suzy

I went with black and white because I love this elegant look.  This picture doesn’t do this card justice.  The Wink of Stella pops on some parts to the card that isn’t captured in the photo.

This is how I created this card:

I cut my black card base to an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.50).  My card panel is cut to 4 x 5.25.

I embossed my card panel with the Happy Birthday Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. I adhered the embossed panel with foam tape.

I used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares to cut my small white panel.  Then I used that panel as a guide to cut my smaller black panel.

I stamped the Swirl So Suzy Stamp Medium Cupcake with black ink.  I added a Denim DoubleClick Skittle as the topper.

I added a random strip of ribbon to my card front.  I attached the smaller panels on top of that ribbon.

I added Wink of Stella to random places on my card.

Easy Peasy!!  I hope Suzy loves this card that I made just for her.

So what do you think?  Will she like this card?

Now on to the wonderful and talented Jenny Johnson to see what she has in store for you.

Congrats front

How cool is this little guy!! I had so much fun coloring this little pig from Simon Say Stamps Birthday Farm Animals.  Thanks Kay Miller for the inspiration for this card!!

Lets take a closer look at that balloon:

Congrats balloon

Look at that glossy balloon!!  It adds so much to the card.

Lets take a closer look at the die cut “Congrats” from Penny Black’s Creative Dies – Hooray.

Congrats closeup

This card was super easy to create.  I’m going to tell you how.

1. I cut my card base to an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.50) scored at 4.25.

2. I used Distress Inks Evergreen Bough and Salty Ocean to blend the colors across the center of the card.

3. I stamped my party pig with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink because I was using Copic Markers to color in pig.

Copics used: Pig (R20, R22); Pig eyes (BG00); Pig Mouth ( W5, W7); Balloon (BG11, BG34); Party Hat (YG03, YG17, YG67)

4. I added glossy accents to the balloon.

5. I die cut the Congrats 3 times and stacked them on top of each other with  Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive to give the word some dimension, then adhered the word to the center of my card.

6. I added foam adhesive to the back of my pig and balloon and adhered it right above my die cut sentiment.

7. I attached my card panel with foam adhesive and that was it!!

Soooo, what do you think?  Now its your turn!!

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and Giveaway!!!

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

This is my second post for the day

If your looking for the DoubleClick Skittles Challenge click here

Hello everyone!!  I’m so excited to be apart of this fun Coffee Lovers Blog Hop again!!

The irony of this hop is that I don’t drink coffee!! Nope, I am not a coffee lover at all.  I have to admit, I am a Tea and Hot Chocolate Lover.  Don’t kill me, its just who I am.

I love this hop because I love Mugs!!  Coffee, Tea, Hot Chocolate Lovers all need great mugs to enjoy their morning, afternoon and evening hot beverage.  So, I knew I had to be apart of this hop!!  All of the beautiful cards that will feature a mug of some sort. Mines is no different.

So, now you know a little bit about me and why I’m here. Lets take a look at my card I created for this hop:

What's Brewing

I decided to go clean and simple with this one.  I wanted my mug to be the focal point on my card.

So what do you think? What type of coffee do you have brewing this morning?

Here’s how I created it:

1. I cut my Neenah Solar White cardstock to an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.50).

2. I used the orange piece of pattern paper from Basic Grey Grand Bazaar which was in my Simon Says Stamp October 2014 Card Kit to cover the front of my card base.

3. I used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles 2nd largest, to cut a piece of Simon Says Stamp Dark Chocolate cardstock and the 3rd largest, to cut a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock.

4. I adhered the dark chocolate panel piece with Tombow Xtreme adhesive.

5. I used Simon Says Stamp Coffee Cup Die and cut another piece of pattern paper from Basic Grey Grand Bazaar to make my mug.   I cut the die twice to get the brown heart for the center of the mug.

6. I used Simon Says Stamp What’s Brewing stamp set to stamp the steam with Simon Says Stamp Khaki ink.

7. I adhered the coffee cup with foam adhesive and the heart with Tombow Xtreme adhesive.

8. I added Stampin’ Up Early Espresso Baker’s Twine to the front of my white card panel.

9. I stamped my sentiment under the twine with Stampin’ Up! Early Espresso Ink.

10. For finishing touches, I added the mocha colored sequin from the card kit and Pretty Pink Posh 4mm Sparkling Clear Sequin.

That’s my card!!  So what do you think? I would love to here from you!

Now on to the giveaway!!

Farewell Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking Magazine Blog Hop

papercraftshop1

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today to say farewell and thank you to Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking Magazine.  You should be arriving from the talented Samantha Mann’s blog.  If this is your first stop you’ll want to begin at the talented Jennifer McGuire’s blog so that you don’t miss out on any of the fun, fabulous creations we are sharing today.

Saying goodbye, is never easy, especially when its your foundation that’s moving.  A couple of weeks ago, an announcement was made that Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking would be closing their doors.  This decision hit the crafting community really hard.  This magazine has been around to provide guidance and inspiration.  Without them, what will we do?

My first subscription to the magazine was back in 2000, when I started crafting for my son’s teachers and family members.  The hard copy was amazing.  Tons of inspiration on each page.

I love learning about different techniques and what supplies I needed to buy.   I regret not submitting any of my projects for publication.  I use to say next time.  My mom used to say don’t put off what you can do today for tomorrow.  Those words are so powerful now, because I will never have the opportunity to do it now.

So I’m here to send my warmest thank you for such an awesome publication.

Take a look at the card I created for this hop:

Thank you and farewall

I went with clean and simple with a white on white look with a pop of color.

So what do you think?  I really love how the ink is coming from the top left and spilling down to the thanks die cut.  I chose blue because that’s how I feel but this card is far from sad.

I just want to say THANK YOU to Paper Craft and Scrapbooking Magazine, and all of the people who worked to bring us a fantastic magazine.  THANK YOU, for feeding my addiction to craft making.  You will be truly missed.  What are we suppose to do without?

The next person on this hop is Jess Moyer!! You will love what she has in store for you.

National Coffee Day!!!

CoffeeLoversBloghopLogo-1024x682Hello everyone! I’m here today joining our friend Chaitali from Cuts, Crops and Creativity and her Coffee themed Blog Hop today.

We are celebrating National Coffee Day!!!  Prior to this hop, I had no clue there was an actual day for coffee.  How cute!!

Here is my card for today’s hop:

National Coffee Day

To create my card I used Sweet Stamp Shop Coffee Town Stamp Set.

Who doesn’t like a nice coffee house to spend some times with friends.  Here in NY, we have so many of those places in and around the city.

I have to admit I’m not a coffee drinker.  I am a (tea) lover.  Please do not yell at me but I just am.  So, to really get in the mood, I asked my mom, who loves her coffee a couple of questions about her obsession with her coffee mug in the morning.

1. When did you start drinking coffee?

I started drinking coffee a couple of years ago.  I’m not sure why it started but once I tried it I was hooked.

2. What is favorite brand?

My favorite brand, that is hard.  I really like McDonald’s coffee.  They really know how to make it right.  If I have to make it myself I like Starbucks Colombia Medium coffee.

3. What is the most amazing coffee that you had? Remember where and when?

LOL, I was at a dinner party with some friends in Jamaica, WI and we were served Blue Mountain coffee and it was to die for. That was about two years ago, which was the last time I was there.

4. If I don’t drink my needed coffee, I will…?

If I don’t drink my needed coffee, I will have a headache early in the morning.

Thanks mom, for accommodating me today.

So today’s blog hop comes with a bunch of giveaways today.  You don’t want to miss out on this fun event.  Check out all of the hop sponsors and prize packages.

CoffeeLoversBloghopSponsors1

To be eligible to win a prize, you have to link your post to the list anytime during the day up to 11:59pm PST.

It would be great if you could visit at least 3 other hoppers and comment on their post.

To participate please do so here!

Before I go, I wanted to also share my Mug swap that I’m sending off to my surprise receiver!

The “Be” Series!

So what do you think?  Its a must have digital set, right!! I totally agree!  These cards were so easy to create.

I created these card panels in Photoshop, but any photo editing software would work.

Artistic Circles MKT2.2I sized and resized each circle so that they were centered on each card panel.  That didn’t take long at all.  Once my placement was create I printed one sheet and cut my panels down to 4 x 5.25.

Then I colored each of the circles with different mediums and added Hero Arts Gems to the center of each circle.  I used each medium to color the gem.

To stay with the digital theme, I created each sentiment in Photoshop and cut them out, flagged them and added them to the front of the card.

I tied bakers twine around the card panel for more detail.  I added foam adhesive to back of each card panel and adhered that to the card base.

Easy as pie!!

Let me know what you think!!
