CS Take It Make It: Take a Technique Challenge

Second Post for today
If your looking for YNS Sketch and Challenge post, click here

Hello everyone!! I’m here with CS Take It Make It: Take a Technique Challenge for our August.

Our theme is Take a Technique!

This months challenge is going to be super fun!!  Its all about Pens and Pencils!

This means using your pens and pencils on your projects!! You could draw or sketch a design, or use your pens and pencils for coloring.  Copics, Distress Markers, Spectrum Noirs, Watercolor Pencils, Paint Pens, and markers, whatever floats your boat!!  You could add detail with fine liner pens, gel pens or smudgy Stabilo pencil…..the only limit is your imagination!! Remember there, MUST be real stamping on your projects.  Digital images CAN be used, but must be used alongside rubber/acrylic stamping!

So with allll of that being said.  On to my card.  I LOVE how it turned out!

Take a look at my card:

Love (TIMI)

I used WPlus9 Doodle Buds Stamp Set for this months card!!  It is so appropriate.  The flowers look hand drawn don’t they.  Nope its a stamp!!! Wait the stem looks hand drawn too!!  I love it!!

I used Prima Watercolor Pencils and a waterbrush to achieve the watercolor look on my flowers.  Then I fussy cut them out and adhered them to my card with dimensionals.  I stamped the stem using My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink. I die cut the Love from WPlus9 Love Showers Layers Die out of black cardstock.

Nice and easy!!

Now its your turn to play along with us.

We have a great prize pack for you.

We have two prizes to offer this month, the first is our sponsor prize. This winner will be chosen randomly from all of the entries in the challenge! The sponsor for August is: Chocolate Baroque

CS Take It Make It: Take a Stamp Challenge

Hello everyone!  I’m here today with CS Take It Make It Design Team for our CS Take It Make It: Take a Stamp Challenge for the month of July.

This month’s theme is Take a Stamp!!  That means take any stamp and create something, anything goes!! Now if that isn’t easy, I’m not sure what is!!

Take a look at my card:

Amazing (TIMI)

I am totally siked!!  My niece said “Auntie that is amazing”, when I was finished with this card.  That is why the sentiment is amazing.  I love this card so much.  The colors are so pretty.

Here is how I created this card:

1. I used Versamark Ink and covered this awesome new stamp that I picked from The Ton!  Its a fairly new stamp company and this stamp is totally awesome. Its called Peony Garden Stamp!

IMG_3872

2. I placed my watercolor paper on top of the stamp and rub the ink onto the paper.

3. I added Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on top of the stamped image.  Then I heat set the embossing powder.

4. Then I added some of Ken Oliver Crafts Color Burst in Orange and Lemon Yellow.  I love this watercolor powder. Its so vibrant and super easy to use.

IMG_3873

5. I cleaned up my water color piece with a damp napkin and trimmed it to fit on an standard size A2 size card (4.25 x 5.50).

6. I didn’t want my sentiment to cover up my watercolor flower so I stamped The Ton’s Friggin Fabulous Stamp Set on Dura-lar Acetate with Versamark Ink and heat set the white embossing powered.

IMG_3883

I have to say I was amazed that I didn’t melt the acetate or my finger! I didn’t prep my acetate with powder before I stamp it so that is why you see so many specs.  I’m ok with it.

7. I added this sentiment piece to my card front with Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Pretty neat right!!  Now its your turn to play along with us.

Hello everyone!  I’m here today with CS Take It Make It Design Team for our CS Take It Make It: Take a Technique Challenge Inspiration Photo!!!

This month’s theme is Take a Technique: Embossing!!This means using texture paste or embossing paste on your project or using a technique such as embossing, either embossing powder or embossing folders. Anything that gives your project a “touchy-feely” style!!

Take a look at my card:

You lift me up (TIMI)

I am so tickled about this card!  That little giraffe from Wplus9 Party Animal Stamp Set is the cutest little thing I’ve seen lately.

I original colored this image for Kathy’s 30 day coloring challenge this past Wednesday.

IMG_3462

IMG_3465

I colored this image while on the train to work.  Coloring everyday had made my commute to work that much easier!!

When I was done, I was happy about the giraffe, but not with the balloon.  I used my Derwent Intense Watercolor Pencils with a water brush.  I wasn’t happy with the water brush.  So, when I arrived home I used a small paint brush for a smoother effect.

Totally love how that turned out.

To create the rest of the card:

I embossed my card base with Stampin’ Up! Decorative Dots Textured Embossing Folder.

I fussy cut my giraffe and balloon and adhered the entire piece using 3M foam tape.

I used my Misti to stamp my sentiment that came from the stamp set with My Favorite Things Hybrid Black Ink.

Nice and easy!!

Now its your turn to play along with us.

We have a great prize pack for you.

CS Take It Make It: Take a Stamp Inspiration Photo

Hello everyone!  I’m here today with CS Take It Make It Design Team for our CS Take It Make It: Take a Stamp Challenge Inspiration Photo!!!

This month’s theme is Take a Stamp!!  That means take any stamp and create something, anything goes!! Now if that isn’t easy, I’m not sure what is!!

Mother’s Day is this Sunday.  Happy Mother’s Day to all of you who are mother’s, mothers-to-be, and who are mother figures to others.

Take a look at my card:

Thank You Mom

I decided to create a CAS Mother’s Day card for my mother to inspire you to take a stamp, any stamp to create your project for Mother’s Day!!

Don’t you just love these bears from Mama Elephant called Bear Hugs.  This mama bear really shows her cub that she loves them. The eye to eye contact is an amazing feature with this stamp set!

I decided to keep my mother’s card very, very clean and simple.

Here’s how:

1. I stamped my bears on a watercolor card panel using Ranger Archival Jet Black Ink.

Ranger Archival Jet Black Ink is a waterproof ink so it won’t bleed when I watercolor.

2. I used my new Akashiya Sai Watercolor Brush Pen Set to watercolor the bears and the ground.

I love these watercolor pens.  They are super vibrant and moves well with water. I love how the bears looks like they have texture.

3. I stamp the “thank you”, from Mama Elephant Bear Hugs stamp set.

4. I stamped the “mom”, from WPLUS9 Love Mom stamp set.

5. I was going to add some sequin to the card panel but I decided to leave it without it.

6. I attached my card panel to the card base with a piece of fun foam.

Super simple and easy.  I used 3 different stamp sets and so can you!!

We have two prizes to offer this month, the first is our sponsor prize. This winner will be chosen randomly from all of the entries in the challenge! The sponsor for May is: WOW! Embossing Powders.

1507057_10206178018309803_1268318448649792502_n

Isn’t this butterfly’s colors pretty! I love it.  This photo reminded me of nature and the fall.  So that is what I went back to.

Take a look at my card:

Thankful For You (WFC)

The colors in the picture reminded me of Lawn Fawn’s Sweater Weather colors.  So I went straight to that paper pack for this card.

To create this card:

It’s pretty straight forward.

1. I dry embossed the front of my card panel with Stampin’ Up! Decorative Dots Textured Embossing Folder.

2. I used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills  Die to cut Lawn Fawn Sweater Weather patten paper to a half circle.

3. I attached Lawn Fawn Trimming to the front of the pattern paper and then adhered the panel to the top of the card base.

4. I stamped my sentiment using Waffle Flower Crafts Holiday Labels – Give Thanks Set with My Favorite Things Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.

5. I added Your Next Stamp Black Gumdrops to tie in the black from the sentiment.

There you have it!! Not hard at all.

So what do you think? Please let me now. Now its your turn!! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!!

CS Take It Make It: Take a Technique Inspiration Photo

Hello everyone!! I’m here with CS Take It Make It: Take a Technique Inspiration photo for our April Challenge.

Our theme is Take a Technique.

This months challenge is going to be super fun!!  Its all about getting Your Color On!

You can color anything as long as its bright, vibrant and full of color.  No monochrome, dark or grungy projects, they need to be BRIGHT!! You don’t have to use every color in the rainbow all at once…but think along those lines!!

Take a look at my project:

Smile (CS)

This card was inspired by this newspaper cover:

FullSizeRender(4)

When I saw those ombre letters and flowers, I knew I wanted to make a card based on it.

Here is how I created this card:

1. I cut my card base using Mama Elephants Femme Frames scallop die.  Both sides of my card base were cut.   I ran it through my Big Shot 5 times to make sure the cut went through both sides of my card base.

2. I used the square die cut in that same set and cut my card panel.

3. I die cut my poppy using Penny Black Field of Dreams Decorative Die.

4. I used Picked Raspberry Distress Ink to create the ombre look.  I masked off each petal before inking as to not transfer the ink in the wrong places.

5. I used Mowed Lawn Distress Ink to color in the poppy stem.

6. I adhered the poppy to my card panel with Tombo MultiPurpose Glue.

7. I stamped my sentiment using Technique Tuesday Budding Poppies stamp set.

8. I added Doodlebug Bubblegum Sprinkle to my card for added interest and to cover a spot on the card base that I don’t know where it came from, LOL!

I totally love how this card turned out. Its nice and bright but subtle!

Now its your turn to play along with us.

We have a great prize pack for you.

We have two prizes to offer this month, the first is our sponsor prize. This winner will be chosen randomly from all of the entries in the challenge! The sponsor for April is:
