Waffle Flower Challenge – Photo Inspiration

Hello everyone!!  Happy New Year to all of you (just in case this is your first time visiting me).

I’m so excited today!!!  This is my first post as a Waffle Flower Crafts Design Team Member!!!

So I have to admit something to all of you.  I planned this post two weeks ago because for the new year I want my post to be scheduled and ready to go out. So I did everything I needed to do.  I hit schedule and I thought I was set.  Until I went back to preview it and I realized I couldn’t find it.  I started to panic.  I couldn’t find the post.  Something told me to have my brother check his email and there it was.  I thought I was going to cry.  I sent the post out, but it wasn’t in my feed.  That’s because I didn’t change the year from 2014 to 2015 so it was under my archive but everyone who gets emails from me received the post, even the Twitter world.

I was so scared that I messed things up. I pulled the post and changed the date and I deleted it from Twitter.  I emailed Tessa and she assured me that everything will be ok.  So those of you who get emails from this blog, received a sneak peak already.

So with that said:

I’m working really hard to make this year one of the best years ever.  Thanks for coming on this journey with me.

So without farther ado, lets get started.

Our first challenge for the year is Photo Inspiration Challenge.  Take a look at the colors below.

WF Challenge Jan 12Aren’t these colors pretty together.  It give off a very warm feeling.  It makes me want an cup of hot chocolate to drink while I create.

So now that you’ve had a chance to see the colors for yourself and how they look in a room, take a look at my card:

Hi, Thank you

What do you think?  I really love how my card turned out.  I have to admit,  I’ve never made a card using a photo for inspiration before.

I looked at this picture for a couple of days before I sat to create.  I thought long and hard about what I wanted to create.  Once I figured out what stamp set and die I wanted to use, I shopped my paper stash for the colors.

I was worried because I didn’t remember seeing all of these colors in my stash.  Once I found them, I knew I was ready to create.

So here is how I did it:

1. I created my A2 size (5.50 x 4.25) card base using Stampin’ Up! Rose Red cardstock.

2. I embossed the front of the card base using Stampin’ Up! Polka Dot embossing folder.

3. I cut a small piece of Simon Says Stamp Soft Navy and Dark Chocolate cardstock then embossed it with Stampin’ Up! Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder.

4.  I attached the two pieces, one on top of the other, with tape.  Then I used Waffle Flower Crafts Flower Circles Die Set and cut a stitch circle out of the Stampin’ Up! Lost Lagoon cardstock.

5. I stamped the “thank you” sentiment from Waffle Flowers Crafts 100% Love Stamp Set with Stampin’ Up! Rose Red Ink.

6. I attached the stitched circle die cut to the stamped thank you sentiment piece.

7. I stamped the “hi” sentiment from Waffle Flower Craft 100% Love Stamp Set with Stampin’ Up! Lost Lagoon Ink.

8. I attached the hi sentiment to the front of the circle with foam adhesive.

9. I attached some Pretty Pink Posh 4mm and 6mm sparkling clear sequin randomly on my card front.

Wala!!  My card is complete.  Easy as 1-2-3!

So what do you think?  Did I meet the photos expectations?  Let me know.  I would love to hear from you!!

I hope my card gives you some inspiration to participate in the Photo Challenge. It runs for two weeks, starting today, January 12th and ending January 25th.

Now its your turn to play along.

Some of the fine details are:

  • Use at least one Waffle Flower Crafts product on each entry. List the product name in your blog.

CS Take It Make It: Take A Stamp Challenge

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with CS Take It Make It Design Team for our first challenge of 2015, our January Challenge.

Some amazing changes are happening over at the CS Take it Make It Challenge. We are giving our challenge player TWO chances to win each month!!

One winner will be decided by a random number generator…so anyone who enters the challenge has a chance to win the fabulous sponsors prize we will be showcasing!

Our other winner will be our ‘Design Winner’, voted for by the blog and magazine DT. This winner will get their project published in Craft Stamper, be a Guest DT member for a challenge, AND get their own winners profile on the blog! The profile will be a wonderful opportunity to share your crafting styles and projects with the world, in a dedicated blog post just for you here on the CS blog!

(To be eligible for either prize you need to make sure your project follows all our guidelines, so please check them out, the guidelines are over on the sidebar!)

Our other HUGE change is that we are going to alternate our themes each month. One month will be a ‘Take A Stamp’ theme, the next ‘Take A Technique’ and so on. The ‘Take A Technique’ months will run in exactly the same way as before, we will look through Craft Stamper magazine and choose a technique for you all to have a go at. The ‘Take A Stamp’ months will be very exciting…..basically, its Anything Goes! You may enter any project you wish to the challenge…the only rule being you must ‘Take A Stamp’ and use it somewhere on your piece! So, any STAMPED project at all!

So with all of that said:

This month’s theme is Take a Stamp!!  That means take any stamp and create something, anything goes!!  Now if that isn’t easy, I’m not sure what is!!

Take a look at my card:

Love You (CS)

The idea behind this card came from Therese Calvird from Lostinpaper, I’m such a hug fan of hers.  She create a card a couple of days ago and I’ve been dying to try it.

Sooooo, what do you think?  I stamped my Random Fan image and colored it with Copic markers.

I have to admit, I’m not good at all with coloring hair so I just colored the little girls hair all black.

I used these Copic markers for my image:

Hair: 100

Clips: R27

Hair Twist: R24, R27

Skin: Eoo, E11, R20

Shoes: E31, E33, R24

Dress: R24, R27, R29

Heart: R81, R85

To create the rest of the card:

I embossed the front of the card panel and my colored image die cut circle with the Stampin’ Up! Polka Dot Embossing Folder.

I die cut the Simon Says Stamp Small Love You Die from Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock, four times.

I attached the circle to the front of the card panel with foam adhesive.

I stacked the die cuts and attached it to my card front using Tombow Multipurpose Glue.

I used my Copic marker R81 to add color to a scrap piece of paper.  I used Lawn Fawn Hearts to cut out the smallest heart.

I attached my heart with foam adhesive.

Super doper easy!!  What do you think?  What about my coloring?  Please let me know.

You can stamp your to your hearts desire.  The challenge just calls for a stamped image.

The prize pack for the one lucky randomly drawn winner is totally amazing!!

Check this out:

Hello everyone!  I’m playing with Addicted to CAS.  I haven’t played with them in such a long time.  I’m glad I’m able to play this week.  I love their code word this week, its DOTS!!

ATCAS - code word dotsWhen I saw that code word, I knew that I had to join.  I just received this beautiful die in the mail that is perfect for this challenge.

Take a look at my card:

Sparkle and Shine

Take a look at all of those dots.  I love how the red glitter paper shines from behind.

This is how this card was created:

1. I cut my card base to an A2 size card, 4.24 x 5.50.

2. I used Memory Box Small Circle Burst die to cut out all of my dots and circle.

3.  I cut a small piece of red glitter paper from American Crafts to go behind the dots and circle.

4. I used my new Simon Says Stamp Sparkle & Shine stamp set to stamp my sentiment with the Mini Distress Embossing Ink from the card kit.

5. I used Liquid Platinum embossing powder on the stamped sentiment.

I have to say I truly love this liquid platinum embossing powder.  It so smooth and pretty.  I am truly impressed.  This is must have in my craft room from now on.

6. To finish my card, I tied a bow with Silver ??? and rounded two of the corners with my corner chomper.

White Stamping

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with CS Take It Make It Design Team for our December Challenge!

This month’s theme is White Stamping!!  That could be white ink, white paint or white embossed stamped image.  This technique is so pretty when its complete.

I saw Kristina Werner create a card that had white embossing and I knew I had to give it a try.

So take a look at my card:

Happy Holidays White Stamping

Isn’t this such a pretty technique!  That white embossing on the blue is so pretty.  That pop of red stands out.

Here is how I created my card:

1. I cut my Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue cardstock on an angle and adhered it to my Neenah Solar 110lb White cardstock using foam adhesive.

2. I used Simon Says Stamp Presents and Ornaments to stamp my snowflakes and bows using Versamark ink.

3. I sprinkled Hero Arts Embossing Powder on my stamped images and heat set it.

4. I added versamark ink to the edge of the a Audrey blue cardstock, added white embossing powder and heat set it for added embossed dimension.

5. I stamped my sentiment using Simon Says Stamp Be Joyful stamp set with Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue Ink.

6. I used my Copic marker R29 and colored a piece of white cardstock and die cut a heart using the smallest heart from Lawn Fawn Hearts Cuts.

7. I added Clear Wink of Stella to the heart and adhered the heart with foam adhesive.

8. I added Stampin’ Up! Rhinestones to the center of all of my snowflakes.

Easy Peasy!  What do you think? Let me know.

Now its your turn!!

You can stamp away to your hearts desire, using white ink, gesso or white paint.  You can even stamp an image and then emboss with white embossing powder if you want to too!!

To be clear, you CAN stamp in other colors too, but we need to see some parts of your project have clearly been stamped in white!

Red Happy Birthday…

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with DoubleClick Skittles Challenge!

This months theme is Birthday!  I’m happy about this because you can’t have enough birthday cards on hand.

I choose to use a couple of dies and embossing paste to create my card for today.

Take a look at my card:

Happy Birthday balloons

I saw a card created by Laura Bassen and I fell in love with the design.  I was so excited to see her use the new Simon Says Stamps Stitched Rectangles die set.  I order mines and it came just in time to create this card.

To create this card:

1. I started with a piece of Stampin Up! Cherry Cobbler cardstock and cut it to an A2 size card.

2. Then I used Simon Says Stamp Medium Dots Stencil and Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste to create the dots in the center of the cardstock.

3. I cut a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock to add to the top of my card base.

4.  I used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut out a window in the card panel.

5. I cut two balloons using Simon Says Stamp Balloons Craft Die to cut two balloons.  I add Stampin Up! Whisper White Barkers Twine.  I adhered the balloons with foam adhesive. I added foam adhesive to the back of the card panel and centered it onto the card base.

6. I stamped my sentiment using Simon Says Stamp More Sketchy Banner Greetings.  I cut the tail off and adhered the banner to the right side of the card.

7. I added Rudolph Red Skittle to the banner.  Then I added Clear Wink of Stella to my balloons.

Finished.  Very easy to recreate.

What do you think? Let me know.  Now its your turn to join us and play along with our challenge this month. I hope to see you there!!
