Fun right!!

Wait there is more!!  If you leave a comment on the YNS blog post you could Win a YNS Stamp Set of your choice!!!

Exciting right!!  It sure is for me!!

The DT Dare Challenge this month is Something Old, Something New!!  The design team was asked to create a project using one of the new stamp sets from the January release.

Take a look at my card:

Hi there (YNS)

YNS Supplies: Puppy Love, Crystal Clear Gumdrops

Other supplies: Retired Stampin’ Up! DSP, Retired Stampin’ Up! Photo Frame Die, Recollections White Card stock, Stampin’ Up! Real Red Ink, Versafine Black Ink, 3M Foam Tape

Can you guess what’s old and what’s new?

For old, if you guessed, the DSP and the Photo Frame Die you are right!  Leaving the Puppy Love Stamp Set as the new item!

For this card, I stamped the heart randomly on the white card stock using the real red ink.  Then I cut a piece of the DSP a little smaller then the card base and adhered it to the card base with 3M foam tape.  After that I cut another piece of the DSP even smaller then the first one and attached that with foam tape. I stamped the heart and the sentiment using the real red ink and the Versamark ink. After that I adhered the frame and gumdrops.

There are plenty of steps but they are doable.

Tip: Stamp your image and sentiment before you adhere the DSP to the card front.

What do you think?  Please let me know below.

Super simple and easy.

So tell me what you think of this challenge? I would love to know, let me know below!

Your Next Stamp July 2015 Sneak Peek

Hello everyone!! This is my first post as a Your Next Stamp Design Team member!!  I’m over the top excited about this opportunity.

We are getting ready for our July Release Blog Hop tomorrow with a sneak peek today.  Are you excited?  Well me too!!

Take a look at my card that I’m giving you a sneak peek of:

Lift me up (YNS Peek)I couldn’t resist making a shaker card with this super stamp set!! Shaker cards are so much fun to make and this heart called for it.

This stamp set is called Waddles Rainbow Fun and there are 15 clear stamps in this set.

I actually cut that heart out using and old fashion craft knife because I didn’t get the die set in time. That was fun and back to the basics.

How did I create this card:

1. I cut my base cardstock to an A2 size card, 4.25 x 5.50.  I cut the white cardstock to 4 x 5.50. I cut the pink cardstock to 3.75 x 5.50.

2. I used the cloud stamp and stamped a few clouds using Versamark Ink eyeballing where I wanted to stamp my hot air balloon.

3. I stamped my sentiment using My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink to the left of where I wanted my hot air balloon to be.

4. I finally stamped my hot air balloon using My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink on the right of the sentiment.

5. I use my craft knife to cut out the stamped heart.  I positioned my pink panel over the white panel so I could stamp the sentiment within the heart shape.

6.  I created my shaker pocket and added Lucy Adams Cherry Blossom Sequin before sealing the pocket up.

If you want step by step instruction on to create a shaker pocket click here.

7. I added the shaker pocket to the pink panel.  Then I added foam tape to the entire panel so that its raised off the white cardstock.

8. I decided to not color my image because I loved the simplicity of the card.

So are you excited about what you see?  You have to see what my fellow team members came up with the rest of the release!

You can find all of the new projects on the Your Next Stamp Blog!!

I hope I see all of you tomorrow for the July 2015 Release Hop!!

Get Sketchy Challenge

Hello everyone!!  First let me say thank you to all of you for your well wishes for my dad.  We have a long way to go but day by day, we are getting there.  Please continue to pray for him.

While he slept last night, I had a chance to play with some of my craft stuff.  The week before he took sick, I received a lot of WPlus9 goodies that I haven’t had a chance to play with.  So I decided to play along with their Get Sketchy With Joni #1 Challenge.

JoniSketch1Take a look at my card:

You are my sunshine

Oh man did I have fun creating this card.  I knew I had to be fast because my dad is dead set on going back to work.  He use to work nights so when 11pm comes he jumps up to go to work so we have to be prepared to stop him.

So, I need to make a card that didn’t require all of my time.  So I decided to make a shaker card and use my We R Memory Keepers Fuse!!

I bought my Fuse some months back from HSN when they had the bundle for a great price.

I’m not sure why I bought it, maybe the price was right but in any case, I’m glad I bought it.

So last night, I opened the package an started to play.

Take a look:

Fuse at work

Jennifer McGuire used her fuse to create a shaker card and I knew I wanted to give it a try.  Check out my circle that was created using one of the photo sleeves that came with my fuse.

I used my circle die as a guide to fuse the plastic together.

Check out my shaker pocket after I add my Star Shine sequin from Lucy’s Card Little Things Collection.

IMG_2829

OMG, super easy and fun.  Now I know what I can create as my dad sleeps.  I will have to create some more.

For the rest of my card:

1. I used Studio Calico’s May Card Kit pattern paper to create the rest of my card.

2. I cut the pattern paper using Wplus9 Sunshine Layers Die to create my card panels.

3. My tag was created using Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 3 Die and Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle.

4. I used the 3rd biggest circle die to cut a circle in the tag and the gray pattern paper.

5. I added my shaker pouch in between the tags die and the gray pattern paper with Tombow Extreme adhesive.

6. I die cut the Sunshine sentiment out the pink pattern paper 4 times and adhered them together with Tombow Multipurpose adhesive.

7. I stamped the sentiment from WPlus9 Sending Sunshine right above the Sunshine die cut in My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink.

8. I added Doodlebug Design Birthday Girl Sprinkles to my card front to finish my card off.

Take another look:

You are my sunshine2

I love how this card turned out and I finished in time before my father woke up!!  Yayyyy!

It felt good to craft again.

So what do you think? I love how this card turned out turned out.

CS Take It Make It: Take a Technique Inspiration Photo

Hello everyone!! I’m here with CS Take It Make It: Take a Technique Inspiration photo for our April Challenge.

Our theme is Take a Technique.

This months challenge is going to be super fun!!  Its all about getting Your Color On!

You can color anything as long as its bright, vibrant and full of color.  No monochrome, dark or grungy projects, they need to be BRIGHT!! You don’t have to use every color in the rainbow all at once…but think along those lines!!

Take a look at my project:

Smile (CS)

This card was inspired by this newspaper cover:

FullSizeRender(4)

When I saw those ombre letters and flowers, I knew I wanted to make a card based on it.

Here is how I created this card:

1. I cut my card base using Mama Elephants Femme Frames scallop die.  Both sides of my card base were cut.   I ran it through my Big Shot 5 times to make sure the cut went through both sides of my card base.

2. I used the square die cut in that same set and cut my card panel.

3. I die cut my poppy using Penny Black Field of Dreams Decorative Die.

4. I used Picked Raspberry Distress Ink to create the ombre look.  I masked off each petal before inking as to not transfer the ink in the wrong places.

5. I used Mowed Lawn Distress Ink to color in the poppy stem.

6. I adhered the poppy to my card panel with Tombo MultiPurpose Glue.

7. I stamped my sentiment using Technique Tuesday Budding Poppies stamp set.

8. I added Doodlebug Bubblegum Sprinkle to my card for added interest and to cover a spot on the card base that I don’t know where it came from, LOL!

I totally love how this card turned out. Its nice and bright but subtle!

Now its your turn to play along with us.

We have a great prize pack for you.

We have two prizes to offer this month, the first is our sponsor prize. This winner will be chosen randomly from all of the entries in the challenge! The sponsor for April is:

Fighting Breast Cancer…

Hello everyone!! Can you believe its October already.  The time really is flying.  September totally went by and I didn’t even get to celebrate my one year blogging anniversary!!   I will do something this month so stay tune in for that.

Today I’m here with the DoubleClick Skittles Challenge!  In Honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our challenge is any project with pink!!

I am an Instagram junkie as my son would say.  I have to admit I had my reservation about it in the beginning.  I’m not big on share pictures of my kids and things like that for fear that someone stranger would have access to them.  It was my wonderful cousin Nicky who reassured me that I could use Instagram for just my paper-crafting business.  Well I started and now I can’t stop!!

I say all of that to say that, I’ve meet someone wonderful ladies on Instragam.  I feel like I’ve known them forever.  Its amazing what cardmaking can do.  This one young lady named Kendra Hernandez from Inkin’ It Up with Kendra introduced me to a new stamp company called Pretty Cute Stamps.

Their stamp sets are so stinking cute!  Their September release really had some great stamp sets.  You must check them out.

For my card today, I chose to use Fight Like a Girl!!  The images and the sentiments are to die for.  When I saw this set I knew I had to have it for the month of October.

Here is my card:

Breast Cancer 2

I know a couple of people who are breast cancer survivors and I’m so happy that they are fighting this fight.  They are the toughest women I know.  I Salute them!!

I also lost one of my most favorite patient to breast cancer two years ago now.  She was the happiest person that I ever met in the hospital where I worked.  She wouldn’t let anything stop her from living her life for her children, 3 of them at that, and no dad.  She relied heavy on the oldest.  She past about a week and have after her birthday.  I have to say I was really heart broken by it.  She had so much life, so much she wanted to do, so much she wanted to share with her children.  She wasn’t a patient to me, she had become my friend.  Her children had become mine children too.  What a beautiful soul!!

This card is dedicated to her!  I wish I could give her the biggest shout out but because of the nature of my work I can’t but she knows up there in heaven that I’m talking about her.

Her children are doing well.  The oldest boy finished college, the middle girl is about to finish college and the youngest girl is in high school.  I keep in touch with them.  I promised her.

People are placed in your life for a reason, sometimes you don’t know why until they are gone.  I miss her but I know she isn’t far.

To create this card:

I used some retired Stampin UP! pretty in pink cardstock and Lap of Luxury Designer Series Paper.

I stamped the image, colored it using Copic markers and fuss it cut it out.  I have the SVG file but my Silhouette Cameo doesn’t recognized those files.  I have to find out why.

I stamped the sentiment and used Avery Elle Custom Panels Die set to cut it out.

Then I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the boxing gloves so that they could shine.  You can see that a little bit in the photo.

Then I added may Pink Sherbert Skittles in all four corners.  They give the DSP a nice frame.

OOO, before I forget, if you purchase the stamp set Lisa the owner of Pretty Cute Stamps is donating $2.00 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  Such a great cause!!

So what do you think of my card?  I think the Copic Online Card Classess is helping me out a lot.  Let me know what you think.
