Hello everyone!!  I just want to jump in here to talk about this class I’m taking over in the Studio Calico Classroom.

The name of the class is called Mini Album with Maggie Holmes!! I am loving this class.  We are creating eclectic, tag-style mini albums that pack big-time style and design. We are going beyond the basics by learning how to incorporate pockets, envelopes, custom-size page protectors, and more.

I’m having fun.

Take a look at my first page:

CASology 151 – Kids

Hello everyone!! It’s CASology Tuesday!! We are back with another Cue Card for you!!

This week’s cue card is super cute and sweet.  You will have fun with this cue card!

This week’s cue card:

Week 151 - Kids

I had so much fun creating cards for this challenge.  Yes, I couldn’t just make one, I made four!!

Take a look at my card:

Kids Card 3 (CAS)

Isn’t this card just the cute card you’ve seen today!!!  I created these cards for my daughter and nieces.  They always want to play with my stamp sets and inks.  So I decided to create these so they can color their own card and give it away.

You can also send this card to a well deserving recipient who can color their own card!  I would love to receive a couple of these.

Kids Card (CAS) 4

My nieces will have fun when they see these.

To create these were super easy:

1. I cut my base card to 3-3/4 by 10-2/16 scored at 5-1/16.

2. My card panel was cut using Mama Elephant Femme Frames.

3. I used my Misti to stamp So Suzy Stamps Bear With Honey multiply times with My Favorite Things Hybrid Black Ink.

4. I used Papertrey Ink Write Stuff Holders Die to cut a crayon holder twice on each card.

5. I pushed the crayon through the holes and that was that!!! What do you think?

CS Take It Make It: Take a Technique Inspiration Photo

Hello everyone!  I’m here today with CS Take It Make It Design Team for our CS Take It Make It: Take a Technique Challenge Inspiration Photo!!!

This month’s theme is Take a Technique: Embossing!!This means using texture paste or embossing paste on your project or using a technique such as embossing, either embossing powder or embossing folders. Anything that gives your project a “touchy-feely” style!!

Take a look at my card:

You lift me up (TIMI)

I am so tickled about this card!  That little giraffe from Wplus9 Party Animal Stamp Set is the cutest little thing I’ve seen lately.

I original colored this image for Kathy’s 30 day coloring challenge this past Wednesday.

IMG_3462

IMG_3465

I colored this image while on the train to work.  Coloring everyday had made my commute to work that much easier!!

When I was done, I was happy about the giraffe, but not with the balloon.  I used my Derwent Intense Watercolor Pencils with a water brush.  I wasn’t happy with the water brush.  So, when I arrived home I used a small paint brush for a smoother effect.

Totally love how that turned out.

To create the rest of the card:

I embossed my card base with Stampin’ Up! Decorative Dots Textured Embossing Folder.

I fussy cut my giraffe and balloon and adhered the entire piece using 3M foam tape.

I used my Misti to stamp my sentiment that came from the stamp set with My Favorite Things Hybrid Black Ink.

Nice and easy!!

Now its your turn to play along with us.

We have a great prize pack for you.

We have two prizes to offer this month, the first is our sponsor prize. This winner will be chosen randomly from all of the entries in the challenge! The sponsor for June is:

CASology 150 – Graduation

Hello everyone!! It’s CASology Tuesday!! We are back with another Cue Card for you!!

I totally loved last week’s cue card.  That stamp is my favorite.  She is so full of detail and intense.  I hope you enjoyed it!

Now on to this weeks cue card:

Week 150 - Graduation

Now take a look at my card:

Graduation (CAS)

I love this wavy graduation card.  Graduations are suppose to be fun and exciting.

My son is graduating high school next year and I can’t wait.  We are going to have so much fun.  I can’t believe he is heading to college already.  I had him while I was in college so this has come full circle for me.  I’m so excited.

He is a great kid and I know he will do great things!!

Here is how I created this card:

1. I cute my card base to an A2 size card 5.50 by 4.25 scored at 5.5o.

2. I used My Favorite Things Die-namics Ride the Wave Die to cut the four waves out of Stampin’ Up! in colors cardstock.

3. I attached the two bottom waves first then I stamped my sentiment from My Favorite Things Wavy Greeting Stamp Set using My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink.

4. Then I adhered the next two waves.

5. I added Your Next Stamp Crystal Clear Gumdrops in random places.

Super Smooth!!!

Nothing to it!! I hope you join us this week!!

Waffle Flower Crafts – Photo Inspiration

Hello everyone!! I’m here with our new Waffle Flower Crafts Photo Inspiration Challenge!!!

This is our tenth challenge for 2015 and this happens to be my favorite photo to date.

Take a look:

Waffle Flower Craft

Look at how vibrant those colors are!

Take a look at my photo:

Hello (WFC)Oh man, I couldn’t help myself with this card.  I love those ombre colors in the photo above that I had to recreate the same look with one of the colors.

Here’s how I created this card:

1. My card base is cut to an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.50 scored at 5.50).

2. I cut the card panel to 2.25 x 5.50

3. I used Distress Ink Salty Ocean to create my ombre look.  I started with the full strength of the ink to the paper.  Then I tapped off on the side before added the color to the paper.  Then I lightly add color to the bottom of the paper.

4. I place my panel into my Misti and stamped a flower from Waffle Flower Crafts Flower Circles Stamp Set with Versamark Ink.

5. I added Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and heat set it.

6. I used the same stamp set to stamp my sentiment with My Favorite Things Hybrid Black Ink.

7. I pop my card panel up with fun foam and I added Pretty Pink Posh Winter Snow Mix sequin randomly.

Super cool!!  I love how this card turned out.

So what do you think? Please let me know.

Now its your turn!! I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

I’m also linking this card up to Virginia’s View Challenge #15.

Super Star

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with a watercolor card for the Pretty Pink Posh Watercolor Blog Hop!!

PPP Watercolor Blog Hop

Take a look at my card:

Super Star (CAS)

Take a look at that vibrant crimson color!!  I totally love it.  That watercolor background was so easy to create.

I used Ken Oliver Color Burst – Alizarin Crimson!!

Ken Oliver Color Burst - Alizarin Crimson

This little bottle is full of power!!  All it takes is a small amount to create the background above.

Ken Oliver has 6 colors!

Take a look at what I created:

Color Burst

Totally love this new way of watercoloring!!

Lets take a closer look at my crimson piece.

Crimson

Here is how I created these watercolor pieces:

I didn’t take pictures of the crimson color, sorry about that.  You can follow with these photos below.

1. I placed my watercolor paper in a shoe box and add a good amount of crimson powder to my paper, similar to what you see in the photo below.

Water color burst 1

In this photo I added two colors inside of one.

2. I took my spray bottle and sprayed a lot of water on my paper to activate the powder.

Water color burst 2

The more water sprayed the more the color moves.  Much like the crimson I’m showcasing.

3. I used my heat tool and heat set my watercolor paper because I couldn’t wait.

4. Once the paper dried, I added fun foam behind it and added it to my card base.

5. I used Papertrey Inks Enclosed Star Die Set and die cut the star heart.

6. I added the die cut to the front of my watercolor paper with liquid glue.

7. I used Papertrey Inks Enclosed Star Stamp Set and stamped my sentiment on black cardstock using Versamark ink.

8. I added Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and heat set it.

9. I cut the strip down, flag the end and added it to the front of my card base.

The watercolor paper that I used was from The Ink Pad in Manhattan.  Its the stores paper.  Its super smooth, so I think its hot press. The weight is lighter then the Canson paper that I usually use.

That was super easy to do and all of you should give these new powders a try.

I only have one compliant.  When I add the powder to the paper, it comes out thick in some places and when wet with water, it didn’t react. So the powder stayed on top of the paper.

Look here:

color burst 3

After it dries, it doesn’t spread its just textured.  I’m  not sure what to do about this but I will figure it out.

So what do you think?  Let me know below.
