Fall is coming…..

Hello everyone!!  Fall official starts tomorrow, can you believe that?  I can’t.  Where in the world did the summer go.  I didn’t really get to do much.  No vacation.  That is so shameful.

For those of you who know me well, knows I DO NOT like the cold.  I hate it with a passion.  The only thing I like about this time of year is a mug full of soup or a tea!!  Yes, I love drinking tea or eating soup out of large mugs.  It makes me feel cozy!!

So today I’m here with the Muse Challenge #85.  The Muse this week is Marion Vagg!  I really like her card.  The flowers are so nice and simple.

Take a look at Marion’s card:

I wish I had such luck with flowers.  I don’t even own a flower die cut, so I needed to come up with something else.

I’m also entering my card into the NBUS Challenge.  The stamp set I used is new and I just received it in the mail.

Warm and Cozy

I love this little tea cup of “warmness”!  Can you imagine sitting on your sofa with a cover, good book and this cup of tea!!  Yes, I’m ready for the fall now!!  My new mug from the 2014 mug swap came just in time for the chilly weather.

My color inspiration came from this mug which I love:

I didn’t have a Copic marker close to this color so I choose the next best color.  I think it turned out just great!

So what do you think?  Please let me know.

Before I go I wanted to Thank You everyone over at the Muse for voting for my card last week.  I received Honorable Mention for this card.

Jamaican Butterfly…..

Hello everyone!!  I’m here with Muse Challenge #84.  This week Muse was Therese Calvird and I have to say her card is ABSOLUTELY Beautiful!

Take a look at Therese’s card:

Butterfly Triangles

When I say it I was taken back.  Her butterfly was so pretty and I love how she broke it up.

I still can’t figure how she did it.  It looks like embossing paste but how did she stamp on that.  Then I thought she stamped the image and then use her die cut to cut the panel.  That made more sense but still I was intrigued.

So I decided to to give this card a try.

On August 8th, 2014 I posted a picture of a Jamaican butterfly that I fell in love with on Instragram, wishing all Jamaican’s Happy Independence Day.  I also mentioned that that butterfly would be my next butterfly card inspiration.

Here is the picture of the butterfly:

Here is my card:

Here is the card flat:

Jamaican Butterfly closeup

So how did I create this card?  Here you go:

1. I stamped Papertrey Ink Life is Beautiful large butterfly in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on my Neenah Solar White card panel.

2. I colored the butterfly with Copic markers G28 and Y13.

3.  I used Papertrey Ink Stripes Horizontal Cover Plate and cut the card panel.

4. I used Papertrey Ink Wet Paint to stamp my sentiment on one of the horizontal die cuts.

5. I carefully placed the strip back in place but lifting some of them with foam adhesive.

6. I had a couple of Lawn Fawn Scripty Hello die cut already so I adhered two together for thickness.  I use glue and added it to the front of my card.

7. I added Clear Wink of Stella to the butterfly and the hello.

8. I added Pretty Pink Posh Clear Sequins and Stampin’ Up! Rhinestones to the card to spice it up.

So what do you think?  Did my card pass this Muse test?

Please let me know!

Life Is A Story…

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today playing with the Muse Challenge #81.  Today’s Muse is Marion Vagg and her card is absolutely gorgeous.

Take a look at her card:

IMG_3336.CR2Marion Vagg

When I saw this card, my mouth dropped.  I love the colors, the glitter, the butterfly just amazing.

I knew what I wanted to create.  I wanted my card to be similar but different.

I’m also playing along with CAS-UAL FRIDAYS Challenge Tic Tac Toe

cfc134

Chevrons, Black and Sequins is my Tic Tac Toe.

Take a look at my card:

Life is a Story

Can you tell how my card is different from Marion?

1. My butterfly is cut out of my stencil card panel.

2. The glitter is on my butterfly wings and not on the rest of the card.

3.  I decided to use only two colors but when blended it created a third color.

This is how I created this card:

1.  My card base is an A2 size card, 4.25 x 5.50 and my card panel measures 4 x 5.25.

     Semi Completed Stencil   Completed Stencil

2. I used Simon Says Stamp Zig Zag Stencil and Papertrey Ink Summer Sunrise and Hawaiian Shores Ink to create my stenciled panel.

This stencil is so delicate that you can’t rub the ink onto the stencil, you have to pounce it on the the stencil as to not break the stencil.

Life is a Story Sideview

3. I used my Memory Box Asti Butterfly Wings to partial die cut the butterfly wings out of my stenciled piece.

4. I used Papertrey Ink’s Building Block Sentiment Stamp Set to stamp “Life Is A Story” on a piece of black card stock.

5. I used Stampin’ Up! Bitty Banners Framelits to cut out a banner out of my sentiment.

6. I used foam adhesive to add my banner to the front of my stenciled panel.

Life is a Story close up

Life is a Story glitter wings

7. I added Clear Wink of Stella to the butterfly wings for some sparkle and Doodlebug Beetle Black Sprinkles in the center of the butterfly wings.

That’s my card for today.  What do you think?

This just in:

A friend of mines notified me today that a good friend of hers daughter past away this weekend.  The little girl whose name is Katy was only 6 years old.  She was dealing with a bad heart.  I can’t image how her parents are feeling.  I’m a mom of 2 and they are my life-line.

I’m going to send this card to her parents and brother, with hopes of lifting their spirits.  Life is a story and they have one to tell.  For me the butterfly symbolizes hope and that Katy is in a better place, no more pain or surgeries.  Please keep them in your prayers and if you want to send them a card too let me know!

Today Is A Good Day!!

Hello everyone!  I’m here today playing along with the Muse Challenge #80 this week.  The Muse this week is Therese Calvird.

Take a look at her card:

Amazing!Therese Calvird

Take a look at my card that I created:

Today

I wanted to keep this card nice and simple just like Therese card. I’m not really good with floral stamps.  I never know what to do with them.  So I used these blossom stamps because they are easier to maneuver to me.

1. I cut my card base out of Bazzill Marshmallow to an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.50 scored at 5.50).

2. My card panels are Stampin’ Up! Blackberry Bliss (3.75 x 5) and Hello Honey cardstock (3-10/16 x 4-14/16).

3. On the Hello Honey cardstock, I stamped Papertrey Ink’s Oopsie Daisy stamp set with Memento Black Ink.

4.  I stamped the inside of the flower using the same stamp set with Hello Honey ink.

5. I used Papertrey Ink’s Circle Scribbles Die to cut out the medium scribble with Stampin’ Up! Blackberry Bliss cardstock.

6. I adhered that scribble piece with Tombow Multipurpose Glue.

7. I used Papertrey Ink’s Wet Paint Cuts II ” Today” from Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock.  I adhered that to the scribble with Tombow Multipurpose Glue.

8. I added Stampin’ Up! Rhinestones to the center of the flowers.

Very easy, simple card to recreate.

So, what do you think?  Do you like this card? Let me know.

First for me…….

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today playing along with AAA Cards Challenge and the Muse Challenge #79.

I wanted to take this time to say Thank you so much to the ladies over at the Muse Challenge for choosing my card for Honorable Mention.  I really appreciate it. If you missed the card you can find it here.

Now on to this week’s challenges.  I had a lot of fun creating my project for these challenges.

AAAcardGame14

Muse VD

Both of these challenges used Water-coloring, which happens to be my favorite.  I decided to do something a little different then what your use to seeing.

I created a TAG!!!  Yes, a tag and its not on a card.  This was a bit of a challenge because my working area was smaller then a normal card size.  I wasn’t sure if I needed to fill all of the space or should I leave some empty areas.  It took me one hour to decided just on that.  LOL!!!

Take a look at my TAG:

Watercolor Thanks

To create this tag:

I used a piece of watercolor paper and my Koi watercolors to create my background.

I cut my tag using Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 1 Dies.

I cut my thank sentiment using Simon Says Stamps Thanks Die out of Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock 4 times from some dimension.

I used my Stampin’ Up! Bitty Butterfly Punch and Elegant Butterfly punch to punch out four butterflies, 2 from my scrap watercolor piece and 2 from Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock.

I added My Mind’s Eye White Enamel Dots to the center of the butterfly for detail and more contrast.

I punched a hole in the top of my tag using Stampin’ Up! 1/8″ Circle Handheld Punch.

I added 2 pieces of retired Stampin’  Up! ribbon and tied it with Stampin’ Up! Whisper White Bakers Twine.

Thats all!  Very easy and fun to do!! I hope you give it a try.  I will be making more tags from now on.

Nothing Is Impossible Today!

Hello everyone! Let me begin by saying Thank you to all of the lovely ladies over at the Muse for picking my dragon card last week as Featured Member.  Awesome!!

If you missed that card, you can check out the the announcement here.

So onto today’s news, I’m here today playing along with the Muse Challenge,  Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, Addicted to Stamps Challenge Blog today.  I’m so glad to be playing along with everyone this week.

The Muse this week was Bev Beunker!  Her card was full of colors.

Take a look at her card:

I love the sequin and the photo frame she used on her card so I knew I wanted to have the thing on my card.  I stuck to two main colors.

For Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge the theme is Anything Goes.

I received my cute Sweet Stamp Shop Elephant Heart stamp set this weekend so had to use it for this card.

Instead of placing my sequin on the outside panel of the card I wanted my photo frame from Stampin ‘ UP! On Film Framelit Die to be interactive so I decided to create a shaker card with sequin.

I stamped my elephant and the sentiment on to a piece of patten paper from Simon Says Stamp Card Kit for July 2014 Pink Paislee Pen Pals.

I used my Copic markers N4 and N5 to color in my elephant.

I die cut out the “today” from Papertrey Ink Wet Paint Cuts 2.

Nice, simple and easy.  No fuss with this card.

So what do you think? Let me know.

Cute! Who, Me?

Hello everyone! I’m back today after all of the great news I had to share this week.  Back to work for me!!

I’m here today with the Muse Challenge #77.  The Muse this week is Marion Vagg.  Her card this week is so cute and simple.

Take a look at Marion Vagg Card:

IMG_2199Marion Vagg Card

I love her owl!  I do not own an owl stamp set, I look high and low, and my stash doesn’t contain an owl.  I couldn’t believe that.  I must get one.

So I went for my brand new stamp the Dragon from Sweet Stamp Shop.

Take a look:

Cute Dragon

Yes, isn’t this dragon the cutest little monster you ever saw!

Can you believe I colored him.  Yes, I took out my Copic Markers and sat and colored.  I need to do that more often.  It was so relaxing.  I need more colors too. I used BG49, Y19 and E37.

I colored my Stampin’ Up! rhinestones with a Copic Marker, Y19.  I wanted to use black enamel dots but ran out of them and I’m glad I did.  I think the yellow color looks so much better since its the same color of the dragons belly.

I thought I was done then, but realized I wanted to add and black frame around my dragon.  So I used my Copic Multi-Liner to create the boarder.

I wanted my card to be as CAS as possible so, I keep everything to the minimal.

What do you think?  I think my little dragon came out so cute!  Yes, you!!

Flowers…

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today playing with the Muse Challenge #76.  I missed it last week.  I created a card but didn’t get a chance to post it.  So I wanted to make sure I get this week’s card in.

This week’s Muse is Therese Calvird.  Take a look at her card.

friends

This challenge was a little difficult for me because I hardly create cards with flowers on it.  I have the hardest time placing the flowers or even building them.

I gave it a try this go round and I’m ok with the results.  I’m not in love with it but I think its a good start.

Take a look at my card:

Hey you are my favorite

I used Simon Says Stamp Favorite Flowers Stamp Set to create my flower bed.

I used Papertrey Ink Summer Sunrise ink and Hero Arts Green Hills Shadow Ink.

I tried to make this card as simple as I could because I really don’t know how flowers should look on a card.

Please let me know what you think, good or bad.

Oh Happy Day

Hello everyone! I haven’t posted in the last couple of days because my camera card refused to work.  What nerve!!  We spend all of this money on these cards and they want to act funny.  Luck for me I do not reuse cards.  Once a card is full I buy another, so I have plenty on hand.  Unlucky for me I had to go through one of them and delete some photos so I can take these photos.  Yes, Oh Happy Day for me.  LOL.

Ok, on to why I’m here today.

I’m here today playing with the Muse Challenge #74.  The Muse for this week is Jennifer Wills!

Check out her card:

IMG_7562.1

I have to say, when I saw this card I was a bit intimidated.  I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, what I can do or what I should do.  My brain was on frozen mode.  Then I thought I want to keep my card clean and simple.  Then I thought maybe I will die cut, but I knew everyone else would, so I didn’t want to do that.

I decided that I would only die cut my center piece and then add embellishments to give the card dimension.

Take a look:

Oh Happy Day side

I die cut my square then added pattern paper.

I rounded the corner, stamped my sentiment, added my twine and button.

Clean and Simple to the max.

By the way, I have been playing with my camera, trying to get brighter pictures that are sharp and crisp.  What do you think?  Any suggestions.

I used my:

Canon 40D

Shooting Mode: AV (Aperture Value)

50mm lens f/1.4

Aperture: 1.4

Shutter speed: 1/80

Exposure Compensation: +1

White Balance: Daylight (I will try Auto next time to see what results I get)

Please let me know what you think.

WOW! What Color Is That?

Hello everyone!  I’m back again today, this time for the Muse Challenge #73.  The Muse for this week is Beverley Brown!

Take a look at Beverley Brown’s card:

Sending Happy Thoughts front

I wasn’t sure which picture I wanted to use so I decided to add both of them.

Sending Happy Thoughts

Beverley created a CAS card that I love. I love the simplicity of her card.

Beverley used multicolor in her butterflies, so I wanted my flowers to have that same multicolor look.  I used the baby wipe technique to create my multicolor flowers.

Then I stamped my sentiment with the same multicolor ink.

I had fun creating this card.  Soooo, what do you think?
