Simple Stenciling with So Suzy Stamps

Hello everyone!  I’m here with So Suzy Stamps.  This month the design team is doing a year in review and I was given the month of February to showcase.  Do you remember what stamps were released in February of this year?

No worries, I’m going to refresh your memory.  Starting with this Hello Friend Stamp set!! I’m going to show you how to combine simple stenciling with stamping.

Take a look at my card:

Hello Friend (SSS)

See, simple stenciling with stamping.  I used a retired Stampin’ Up! Stencils and Distress Inks Scattered Straw, Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade and Barn Door.  I took my time and blend the colors together from both directions.

Once the blending was complete, I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Black Ink.

I used the Nuvo Crystal Drops to create the black accented dots the the card front.

How fun was this!!

What do think? Please let me know below.

Now don’t forget to check out So Suzy Shop for all of her new goodies in her store.

The Ton Spring 2016 Blog Hop

Second Post for today
If your looking for CS Take It Make It Inspiration Post, click here

Hello everyone!!  I’m super excited today.  I was asked to participate in The Ton’s Spring 2016 Release Blog Hop!!!  Yayyyyyy!!

Screen Shot 2016-04-05 at 7.04.16 AM

I was totally siked when Effie reached out to me and asked if I would like to hop along with her team.  I jumped at the opportunity to work with her fabulous team.

Enough about my excitement, lets get started on this hop!! If you arrived here from the talented Eunji blog then you are on the right track.  If you arrived here on your own, you will want to start at the beginning, The Ton blog, as to not miss any of the amazing projects!

I’ve created two cards for this awesome hop.

Card Number One:

Happy Birthday (ton outside)

When I first saw this Bokeh Burs Star stamp set, I fell in love.  Such a pretty stamp set with so many things that you can do with it.

I knew it would look super pretty embossed with some distress inks blended on top.

Here is how this card was created:

  1. Stamp the image using Versamark ink in the center of the Recollection White Heavyweight cardstock.
  2. Apply Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on top of the stamp image and heat set. This will resist the ink that will be added on top.
  3. Lay your card flat on your table and start applying your first distress ink Mustard Seed.  Tap off before you apply your first coating of ink.
  4. Then blend the next color, Spiced Marmalade, to create a pretty blend between the two colors.
  5. Next blend the last color, Festive Berries, to create a contrast between the other colors.  Together all three of them are amazing.
  6. Make sure you cover all of the white embossing powder with the distress ink so that everything pops.
  7. Now you can stamp the sentiment in the center of the star using Versafine Ink for a clear, crisp impression.
  8. To finish the front of the card off, add several Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequin randomly.

I hardly ever stamp the inside of my cards.  I decided that this card would totally rock, with a sentiment on the inside.

Happy Birthday (ton inside)

Use Versafine ink again to stamp the sentiment for a crisp, clear impression.

What do you think?  Isn’t this set fabulous!! I think so!!

Card Number Two:

hello (ton)

Isn’t this just fabulous!!  This stamp set is called Brushed Hello.  I love everything about this card.  From the background to the “HELLO” sentiment. Everything about this card screams BOLD!!!  I love it.

Here is how to create this card:

  1. Tape down the Clarity Stencil to the cardstock so that it lays flush over the paper.
  2. Select two-three colors to blend.  The colors used above Fossilized Amber, Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon.
  3. Use the Clarity Stencil Brushes to blend the colors over the stencil.
  4. Check out the video below on how I achieved that look. Its a 5 minute video from start to finish in real time.
  1. Trim the blended cardstock down to the desired size.
  2. Stamp the Hello sentiment from the Brushed Hello stamp set using Versafine Black Ink. Then stamp another sentiment if you like.
  3. Add rhinestones to finish the card front off.
  4. Adhere the card front to your cardbase using Tombow Stamp Runner Adhesive.

Finished!!  What do you think?  I love both cards using both of these stamp sets.  Such a great way to bring in Spring!!

Let me know what you think below!!  I would love to hear from you.

Now take a look at my card:

Enjoy (S&S)

I love how this card turned out.  These colors are awesome together.

Here is how I blended these colors to created this card:

I gathered all of my supplies. I used the Distress Ink Kits 13 and Kit 14, My Favorite Things Stencil Circle Burst, Ink Blending Tool, Recollection White Heavyweight Cardstock, Simon Says Stamp Painted Enjoy, Clear Wink of Stella, Stampin’ Up! Rhinestones and Tombow Mono Liquid Glue.

Then I started inking in the middle with the Distress Ink Abandon Coral.

Next in line was Distress Ink Fossilized Amber. I took my time and tried to blend the colors with ease.

After that, was Distress Ink Cracked Pistachio. Always moving in a circular motion.

Moving right along, up next is Distress Ink Mermaid Lagoon.

Ink blending 7

Now its time for the big reveal.

Super cool effect!

Then I used Simon Says Stamp Painted Enjoy Die and cut out 4 enjoy’s.  I glued them together and adhered it to the front of the card.

I added Clear Wink of Stella to the sentiment and finished the card off with a couple of Stampin’ Up! rhinestones.

enoy close up (S&S)

Nice and easy!! Perfect blending of colors.

Wait before I go, I was asked to show this same effect using the Clarity Brushes.

Happy New Year for the third time today!!

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today for the first time with the Sparkle and Shine Challenge as a Design Team member!!!  How exciting is this!!! Pretty exciting for me!!  The women on this team is amazing!!

Since its the first of the month, its time for our new challenge for the year!!!

Here is the inspiration photo that guided us this time around:

S&S Jan

Now take a look at my take on this photo:

Happy Birthday (S&S)

Take a closer look at that bling (wink of stella):

wink of stella

Here is how I created this card:

  1. I used Papertrey Ink Shaker Shapes Balloon Die to create a mask for my balloons.
  2. Then I used Distress Ink Seedless Preserves and Peacock Feathers to the masked area to create the balloons.
  3. Then I stamped the sentiment from WPlus9 Unforgettable stamp set in Ranger Archival Black Ink.
  4. I die cut the balloon ends out of silver paper (I don’t know who made the paper).  I used Stick It to adhered them to my card front.
  5. After that I added the finishing touches, the “bling”!! I added Clear Wink of Stella to the balloons and Rhinestones to the card front.

That easy!! It sure was.  After creating my card, I felt like I’ve seen it before.  Then I remembered Laura Basson’s card using the balloon die.  That card was the reason I bought that die back in June!!  This was the first time using it so it worked out perfectly!!

What do you think?

Now its your turn to give this challenge a try!! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!!

Here is the photo inspiration that I used to create my card:

sparkle and shine. jpg

When I saw this photo, I was torn on what to create!  I saw the purple first, its my favorite color, then I spotted the snowflakes on the wall and thought how can I recreate that look and here you go.

Take a look at my card:

Joy (S&S)

I totally love how this card turned out!!  Purple is such an amazing color!  It’s vibrant and deep!!

I wanted to include the snowflakes, the colors purple and black!

Here is how I created my card:

  1. I used Distress Ink Dusty Concord and add the ink to my paper. Only on one side of the card base since the snowflakes were in the corner.
  2. Then I used Create a Smile Snowflake stencil and Wendy Vecchi Embossing paste to add some snowflakes over the purple ink blending.
  3. Then I used Lawn Fawn Joy Die to die cut 3 words out of fun foam.
  4. I adhered the sentiment to the card base using Tombow Multipurpose Glue.

CASology – 175 Pie

Third Post for the day
If your looking for a2z Scrapbooking December Challenge, click here
If your looking for So Suzy Stamps Blog Hop, click here

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!!  We are back with another Cue Card just for you!!

This week’s cue card is :

Week 175 - Pie

Take a look at my card:

Pie (CAS)

OMG!!  You can’t get any more Clean and Simple then this!!! I love it.

When I saw the cue card was pie, I knew I didn’t want to use the food pie because that was typical. So I thought about pi in math class.  I was going to draw the symbol but I can’t draw and that would have been a disaster waiting to happen.

So I went with the next best thing!!  The actually number for “pi”.

To create this card, I die cut a scrap piece of ink blended paper with Papertrey Ink Sew Stylish Number Die Collection. I used Tombow Multipurpose glue to adhere the number to the card base.   Nice and easy.

So what do you think?  Did I inspire you?

Now its your turn!! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Hello everyone!!!  I’m here with Top Dog Dies!!  I’ve showcased this die before but I love it so much that I wanted to show it again in a different colors.

The difference here, I used Shari Carroll’s Distress Ink Recipe Cards to choose my colors.  When I saw these recipe cards I knew I wanted to try the different colors.

Swatches

I went to with recipe card #4! I don’t have Peeled Paint so I substituted it with Mowed Lawn.

CASology 170 – Hearts

Second Post for the day
If your looking for CASEing Kelly Blog Hop, click here

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!!  We are back with another Cue Card just for you!!

This week’s cue card is :

Week 170 - Heart

Take a look at my card:

Its Complicated (CAS)

Some times our hearts make things so complicated!!  I love this stamp set from So Suzy Stamps.  It’s totally perfect for this challenge!!  Once stamp set that says everything and it keeps my card CAS!!

To create this card all I did was stamp the heart part of the image in Lawn Fawn Lobster Ink and the sentiment part in My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink.

Super easy!

I have to admit, this wasn’t my first card.  I made my card and as I was putting my post together I realized our sponsor this week is So Suzy Stamps so I had to change my entry card!!  I have so many So Suzy Stamps that I had to use one of her sets for this challenge.

Take a look at my original card:

You have my heart (CAS)

This card was super easy to create too.  All I did was blend Distress Ink Scattered Straw and Spun Sugar in the center of my card.  A nice even layer.

Then I used a rub on to add my heart wreath and sentiment. Nothing more nothing less.  Since and clean and simple.

I love both cards!! I hope you do too!!  Let me know below!

Now its your turn!! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
