CASology 140 – Spring

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!!  We are back again with another Cue Card for you!!!

Week 140 - SpringYayyyy!! This cue card makes me happy!!  Spring means sunshine, warmer weather, birds chirping, my BIRTHDAY (April 4) and rain!!  LOL, yes rain! Spring brings a lot of rain.

So, for my card I thought of rain.  Take a look at my card:

Happy Spring (CAS)

I just love this stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.  Abby is so cute!! I couldn’t wait to sit and color her! Look at that umbrella!!

Here is how I created this card:

1. I cut my card base to 4.25 x 5.50, scored at 4.25.

2. I stamped Abby and the umbrella from Simon Says Stamp Abby’s Spring using My Favorite Things Hybrid Black Ink.

3. I used Copic Markers to color Abby and her umbrella.

R24, YR68, Y06, G17, E00, E23, E11, E21, E33, E37 and W5.

4. I used the Simon Says Stamp Spring Showers Wafer coordinating die to cut out Abby and the umbrella.

5. I placed Abby and the umbrella down on my card base and covered them with Simon Says Stamp Raindrop Stencil. I used post-it tape to hold the stencil in place.

Masking Abby off

6. I took my time and pounced Distress Salty Ocean Ink onto the raindrop stencil without touch Abby or the umbrella.

7. I stamped the sentiment and adhered Abby and the umbrella with foam adhesive.

Super doper easy and fun.  I didn’t do much blending.  I just colored and that was stress relieving for me.

So what will you come up with? I can’t wait to see!

Watercolor Easter Card

Hello everyone!!  I’m on the Top Dog Dies Blog today with another card that I created using one of their new dies.

Were do you draw your inspiration from?  I look everywhere for inspiration.  On my way to work, while at lunch, at my workplace, the internet,  while on the train and most certainly while I’m outside.  Their are so many things we missed because we never take the time to observe the world around us.

For my card today, I used a gift card that was given to me by my sister who works at Starbucks. Anytime she sees creative things that she likes, she brings them to me because she wants me to recreate what she sees.

Check out the gift card:

Take a look at Anne’s card:

Card33I love how she kept her card with one stamped image and some doodling along the edge of the card.  Easy Peasy!

Take a look at my card:

Here is how I created this card:

1. I cut my cardstock to an A2 size card, 4.5 x 5.5.

2. I stamped my image from Mama Elephants Three Amigos.  I love this stamp set.  These little guys are so cute.

3. I used Copic Markers to color this little guy in.

Body: E31 and E35

This is also for Kathy’s #thedailymarker30day coloring challenge.  She has really allowed me to practice my coloring and I believe I’m getting better because of it. I can’t believe we only have 4 more days before it ends.  It feel like yesterday it started.

I’m also entering AAA Cards bare naked CAS design challenge this week.

CASology 139 – Style

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!! We are back again with another Cue Card for you!!

Week 139 - Style

Ok, Ok, I know!! I thought the same thing too when I saw this cue card.

What in the world is “STYLE” and how does it relate to cardmaking?

Well lets look up what style means:

Style may refer to: Style is a phenomenon that gives birth to an art or architectural motif that distinguishes one era from another

Ok, this is a pretty interesting definition.  What do you do with this?

Sooo, I decided to go with Style (visual style), style in art and painting.

Take a look at my card:

Happiness is you

These flowers look like they were painted on my card front!!  Very elegant and very stylish!!

That’s my interpretation and I’m sticking to it!!

To create this CAS card:

1. I cut my card base to an A2 size card, 4.25 x 5.50 out of Neenah Desert Storm cardstock.

2. I stamped Hero Arts Leafy Vines with Vesamark Ink and add Hero Arts White Embossing Powder.

3. I heat set the embossing powder.

4. I used Your Next Stamp Whatnot Sentiment Set Four to stamp my sentiment in Versafine Oynx Ink.

5. The top of the card seem somewhat bear so I added Your Next Stamp Crystal Clear Gumdrops for added interest.

So what will you come up with?  I can’t wait to see!

Such pretty subtle colors!  I knew the Waffle Flower Flower Circles Die Set would look amazing in these colors.

To create this card:

It was simple.  I started with a card base cut to an A2 size card.

I used Simon Says Stamps Cotton Candy cardstock and Lawn Fawn Sweater Weather pattern paper to cut out my Flower Circle Die.

I adhered the flower on the card, then stamped my sentiment from the Holiday Labels- Give Thanks Set in the center of my flower using Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

I adhered some Pretty Pink Posh 4mm and Simon Says Stamps Gold Sequin to the front of my card.

I sprayed the card front with Heidi Swapp Gold Spray.

That’s it!!  Super simple and easy!

Online Card Class Homework – Day 2

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with another card I created for my Stretch Your Dies homework!!

Kristina Werner taught us how to die cut within larger dies.  I thought this was totally awesome.

Take a look at my card:

Leafy ThanksM

For this technique:

1. I die cut our leaves out of watercolor paper.

2. Then I arranged the leaves the way I wanted them to appear on my card.

3. I covered the arrangement with masking paper so that the leaves stay in place.

4. I ran the masked leaves through my big shot to cut out a circle.

5. Before moving the mask, I added foam tape to the back of each leaf.

6. I placed my masked piece down and then took my time and lifted the mask.

7. I die cut my thank you, added Wink of Stella to all of my piece and my card was done.

Happy Birthday…

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today to share a birthday card I created for a customer of mines.

She needed a birthday card for a friend of hers that is turning 40!!

She didn’t give me any direction or colors that she wanted me to use so I had free range!!

Since her friend was turning 40 I wanted the card to be fun and bright but I also wanted it to be elegant.

So I went with my new Penny Black Petals Die!! I love this die, its so pretty!!

Take a look at my card:

Birthday Wishes

Oh how I love these pretty colors in the background.  Distress inks always saves the day!

Here is how I created this card:

1. My card base is cut to an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.50).

2. I used masking tape to mask off the top portion of my card so that ink doesn’t transfer on to it while I’m blending.

3. I started with Distress Ink Picked Raspberry, then Shaded Lilac, and ended with Spiced Marmalade. Doesn’t it look like there is a hit of green in there.  I love how colors blend with distress inks!!

4. I die cut the Penny Black Petal Die cut and tons of foam pieces to the back so that the panel will not shift of come off.

foam tape

5. I used Your Next Stamp Whynot Sentiment Stamp Set to stamp my sentiment in Versamark Ink on black cardstock.

6. I sprinkled Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on the sentiment and heat set it.

7. I die cut one of the buttons from Papertrey Ink Button Stacks Die out of another blend piece of cardstock.

8. I added Your Next Stamp Black Gumdrop for added interest.

Birthday Wishes 2

So what do you think?  I hope the recipient likes this card as well.
