More White Stamping

Hello everyone!!  I’m here again with CS Take It Make It Design Team for our December Challenge!

Once again, the theme is White Stamping.  That could be white ink, white paint or white embossing stamped image.

I decided to go with white ink and a dauber for a Bokeh effect!!

Take a look at my card:

Sending Happy Mail Bokeh

I love this affect, thanks Dawn Woleslagle for the tutorial!!

Here’s how I created this card:

1. I added Alizarin Crimson Hue and Cadmium Yellow Hue watercolor paint to my water-socked Carson XL Watercolor Paper.

2. I stamped my sentiment using Mama Elephant Happy Everything in the center of my watercolor piece.

3. I created my own circle stencil out of acetate.

4. I used the stencil to stamp various size circles with my ink dauber and Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink.

5. The bigger circles were stamped lighter then the smaller circles. I overlapped the circles to create this effect.

6. I trimmed my watercolor panel down and adhered it to the front of my card base using foam adhesive.

7. I added Pretty Pink Posh 4mm and 6 mm Sparkling Clear sequins.

Easy Peasy! What do you think? Let me know.

Now its your turn!!

You can stamp away to your hearts desire, using white ink, gesso or white paint. You can even stamp an image and then emboss with white embossing powder if you want to too!!

To be clear, you CAN stamp in other colors too, but we need to see some parts of your project have clearly been stamped in white!

Hello everyone!!  I’m so excited to be apart of this fun Coffee Lovers Blog Hop again!!

The irony of this hop is that I don’t drink coffee!! Nope, I am not a coffee lover at all.  I have to admit, I am a Tea and Hot Chocolate Lover.  Don’t kill me, its just who I am.

I love this hop because I love Mugs!!  Coffee, Tea, Hot Chocolate Lovers all need great mugs to enjoy their morning, afternoon and evening hot beverage.  So, I knew I had to be apart of this hop!!  All of the beautiful cards that will feature a mug of some sort. Mines is no different.

So, now you know a little bit about me and why I’m here. Lets take a look at my card I created for this hop:

What's Brewing

I decided to go clean and simple with this one.  I wanted my mug to be the focal point on my card.

So what do you think? What type of coffee do you have brewing this morning?

Here’s how I created it:

1. I cut my Neenah Solar White cardstock to an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.50).

2. I used the orange piece of pattern paper from Basic Grey Grand Bazaar which was in my Simon Says Stamp October 2014 Card Kit to cover the front of my card base.

3. I used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles 2nd largest, to cut a piece of Simon Says Stamp Dark Chocolate cardstock and the 3rd largest, to cut a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock.

4. I adhered the dark chocolate panel piece with Tombow Xtreme adhesive.

5. I used Simon Says Stamp Coffee Cup Die and cut another piece of pattern paper from Basic Grey Grand Bazaar to make my mug.   I cut the die twice to get the brown heart for the center of the mug.

6. I used Simon Says Stamp What’s Brewing stamp set to stamp the steam with Simon Says Stamp Khaki ink.

7. I adhered the coffee cup with foam adhesive and the heart with Tombow Xtreme adhesive.

8. I added Stampin’ Up Early Espresso Baker’s Twine to the front of my white card panel.

9. I stamped my sentiment under the twine with Stampin’ Up! Early Espresso Ink.

10. For finishing touches, I added the mocha colored sequin from the card kit and Pretty Pink Posh 4mm Sparkling Clear Sequin.

That’s my card!!  So what do you think? I would love to here from you!

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with the DoubleClick Skittles Challenge!!

This month’s theme is Christmas!!!  I’m super excited about this challenge.  There are so many neat stamps, stencils, die cuts with a Christmas theme that the possibilities are endless.

I decided to create Christmas gift tags for this challenge.  Oh boy did I have fun with this challenge.  I created not one, not two, but three tags for you today.

Take a look at my tags:

Winter Friends Gift Tags

Aren’t these the cutest tags you’ve seen.  I love these winter friends paired with my Skittles of different colors!!

For all of these tags:

1. I die cut these tags using Clearly Besotted Rounded Tag die.

2. The pattern paper that I used was Lawn Fawn Snow Day and Sweater Weather.

3. I stamped and die cut my images using Simon Say Stamp Winter Friends stamp set and die cut.

4. All of them have a different color Skittles: Rudolph, Slate and a Frosty Glitter.

5. Each image was colored with Copic markers.

Now lets take a closer look at each tag:

Santa Tag

For this tag:

1. I stamped the snowflake with Versamark ink and covered them with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder.  I heat set the images.

2. I drawn in a curved line and used my B000 Copic Marker to create a shadow that resembled snow.

3. I stamped my sentiment under the hill.

4. I stamped my image with Memento Black Ink and colored him in with Copic Markers: Coat and hat: R24, R27, R29, R46; Belt: 100; Buckle Y35; Face: E00, E11, R20. Then he was die cut out.

5. Foam adhesive was used to pop him up off the tag.

6. The front tag was adhered to the red tag with regular adhesive.

7. I added Slate Skittles to the left and right of the sentiment.

8. I used Stampin’ Up! retired Sweater ribbon to finish off my tag.

Take a look at my second tag:

Snowman Tag

For this tag:

1. I used Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil and Embossing Paste to create the snowy background.  I added Distress Glitter Clear Candy Rock  for the glitter look.

2. I stamped and colored my image with Copic markers. Then I die cut it out.

3. The rest of the directions are above.

4.I’m entering this tag into the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Stencil Challenge.

Now to the last tag:

For this tag:

1. I stamped the musical notes for this tag.

2. Then I followed all of the directions up above.

Guac Love Shaker Gift Tag!!

Hello everyone!  I’m here today playing with one of the new sets just released from Sweet Stamp Shop called Guac Love!!!

guacloveWhen I first saw this set, I was grinning from ear to ear. Why you ask?  I love Avocado, better know to me as “Pear”!  In Jamaica, WI, we call avocado “Pear”.  In Jamaica, we eat “Pear” for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  We can eat it with other food or simply by itself.

So to get to create something with theses “pears” was super fun for me.

If you’ve been following me lately, you know that I’ve been on this gift tag kick.  Gift tags are so much fun to create.  They are easy to mass produce.

When I saw this set, I know I wanted to create a Christmas Gift Shaker Tag for those that are in love.

Take a look at my tag:

If Loving is wrong

Isn’t this tag cute!  Would your significant other love to see this tag on their gift!!  I know I would!

Here’s how I create it my tag:

1.  I cut my tag using Reverse Confetti Tag Me, Too Confetti Cuts out of Neenah Solar White cardstock and Lawn Fawn Snow Days Pattern Paper.

2. I adhered my pattern paper to the front of one of my cut tags.

3. I used my Stampin’ Up! Circle Die to cut a circle window out of my top tag.

4. I colored my image using Copic Markers.

5. I added a piece of acetate to front tag. Then I added foam adhesive all round the circle.  I added my sequin then adhered the back of the tag to close it up.

6. I added Stampin’ Up! retired Whisper White Sweater Ribbon to finish off my tag.

Soooo, what do you think? Let me know, I would love to hear from you.

Seriously, You Rock!!

Hello everyone!  I’m here today playing along with Simon Says Stamp Flickr group!  This is the second time, I’m playing along.  Flickr is new to me, so it takes me some time to remember my password, then to upload and figure out how to get my photos in the groups feed.  I’m will get this down pack very soon!!

In any case, the challenge runs for two week and this week’s challenge #7 is all about stencils. I love working with stencils!  They are so easy and versatile to use.

Take a look at my card:

Seriously You Rock

What do you think? I wanted my background to have an ombre effect.  Did I achieve that?

I also wanted some of the distress inks to move around the card so I sprayed a little bit of water over the card front but I was unable to achieve the effect I was looking for.  I didn’t use watercolor paper so the water just warped my paper.  You can see that in the orange section of my card.

Here’s how I created this card:

1. I cut my card base to an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.50) out of Neenah Solar White cardstock.

2. I used Simon Says Stamp Flower Pattern Stencil and Ranger Distress Mustard Seek and Spiced Marmalade.

3. I sprinkled some water over the front of the card to get some of the ink to move but the water just created a warped look on the card.  I should have used watercolor paper.

4. I die cut Lil’ inker design Seriously die twice out of Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock.

5. I adhered the two die cuts using Tombow Multipurpose Glue for added dimension.

6. I used Lil’ inker design Seriously Awesome stamp set to stamp my sentiment under the die cut and the small heart.

7. I added Pretty Pink Posh 4mm and 6mm Clear Sparkling Clear Sequin.

That’s my card for today!!  What do you think?  Let me know below in the comment section.

Warm Holiday Wishes Tag

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today playing with Tag You’re It!!  This is my first time playing with them.  I’m happy I found them.  I recently started making tags and I love them.  They are super fun to make.

TYIC_12

The TYIC Designer for his challenge is Tracey McNeely and her tag is fabulous!!

When I looked at her tag, I thought of pops of color.  So I decided that I wanted to have a pop of color on my tag too.

Take a look at my card:

Warm Holiday Wishes

I love that pop of that Cable Car Red Wow embossing powder on my gloves.

Warm Holiday Wishes sideview

Not along is it a tag, but it doubles as a card too!!  So you can write your message inside instead of the back.

This is how I created my tag:

I cut two tags out of Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock using Reverse Confetti Tag Me, Too.

I used Simon Says Stamp Big Holiday Wishes stamp set to stamp my snowflakes with Versamark ink.  Then I embossed them with Hero Arts White Embossing Power.

I stamped my sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

I stamped the mitten string with Versafine Onyx Black ink around the hole in the tag.

I stamped my mittens using Versamark ink and embossed with Cable Car Red Wow Emobossing Powder.

I fussy cut the mittens out and adhered them with foam adhesive. I added Clear Wink of Stella on my mittens for a sparkly shine.

I attached my second tag to the back of the first tag with adhesive to create a tag that opens.

I strung Stampin’ Up! Retired Whisper White Sweater Ribbon to finish off my tag.

Nice and easy.  So what do you think?

Sparkle and Shine…

Hello everyone!  I’m playing with Addicted to CAS.  I haven’t played with them in such a long time.  I’m glad I’m able to play this week.  I love their code word this week, its DOTS!!

ATCAS - code word dotsWhen I saw that code word, I knew that I had to join.  I just received this beautiful die in the mail that is perfect for this challenge.

Take a look at my card:

Sparkle and Shine

Take a look at all of those dots.  I love how the red glitter paper shines from behind.

This is how this card was created:

1. I cut my card base to an A2 size card, 4.24 x 5.50.

2. I used Memory Box Small Circle Burst die to cut out all of my dots and circle.

3.  I cut a small piece of red glitter paper from American Crafts to go behind the dots and circle.

4. I used my new Simon Says Stamp Sparkle & Shine stamp set to stamp my sentiment with the Mini Distress Embossing Ink from the card kit.

5. I used Liquid Platinum embossing powder on the stamped sentiment.

I have to say I truly love this liquid platinum embossing powder.  It so smooth and pretty.  I am truly impressed.  This is must have in my craft room from now on.

6. To finish my card, I tied a bow with Silver ??? and rounded two of the corners with my corner chomper.

White Stamping

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with CS Take It Make It Design Team for our December Challenge!

This month’s theme is White Stamping!!  That could be white ink, white paint or white embossed stamped image.  This technique is so pretty when its complete.

I saw Kristina Werner create a card that had white embossing and I knew I had to give it a try.

So take a look at my card:

Happy Holidays White Stamping

Isn’t this such a pretty technique!  That white embossing on the blue is so pretty.  That pop of red stands out.

Here is how I created my card:

1. I cut my Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue cardstock on an angle and adhered it to my Neenah Solar 110lb White cardstock using foam adhesive.

2. I used Simon Says Stamp Presents and Ornaments to stamp my snowflakes and bows using Versamark ink.

3. I sprinkled Hero Arts Embossing Powder on my stamped images and heat set it.

4. I added versamark ink to the edge of the a Audrey blue cardstock, added white embossing powder and heat set it for added embossed dimension.

5. I stamped my sentiment using Simon Says Stamp Be Joyful stamp set with Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue Ink.

6. I used my Copic marker R29 and colored a piece of white cardstock and die cut a heart using the smallest heart from Lawn Fawn Hearts Cuts.

7. I added Clear Wink of Stella to the heart and adhered the heart with foam adhesive.

8. I added Stampin’ Up! Rhinestones to the center of all of my snowflakes.

Smile, I Love You!

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with CAS(E) this Sketch #101 and only have a couple of hours to get my card in before it closes.  Why do I put myself under soooo much pressure?  I seem to think, that my best work comes from stressful situations, LOL.  That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.

CTS_101

The guest designer this week is Anita and she did a great job with this one.  I hope my card measures up.

I’m also entering the Waffle Flower Anything Goes Challenge for the first time.

IMG_0168.JPG

Take a look at my card:

Smile I love you

So what do you thing?  Did I past?  Do you agree that I work best under pressure?

I wanted to make sure I stuck to her design from the sketch to the pop of color in my flower.

My original thought was to create a tag using my new Waffle Flower: Flower Circle Die, but I couldn’t figure out how to do it.  So I just added the flower cut pieces to the front of my card.

I then stamped my sentiment from Craftin Desert Divas Say It Big stamp set, in the center of the flower.  Then I decided to add another sentiment from the same set under the flower.  Both sentiments just seem to fit perfectly.

I added some Pretty Pink Posh 6mm Sparkling Sequins and 4mm Sparkling Sequins and Clear Wink of Stella on the flower and sentiments.

I rounded the corners and decided that my card was done.

So, what do you think?  Let me know below what you think.  After I completed the card, I realized that I could have made the card a shaker card.  Next time!!

Farewell Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking Magazine Blog Hop

papercraftshop1

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today to say farewell and thank you to Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking Magazine.  You should be arriving from the talented Samantha Mann’s blog.  If this is your first stop you’ll want to begin at the talented Jennifer McGuire’s blog so that you don’t miss out on any of the fun, fabulous creations we are sharing today.

Saying goodbye, is never easy, especially when its your foundation that’s moving.  A couple of weeks ago, an announcement was made that Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking would be closing their doors.  This decision hit the crafting community really hard.  This magazine has been around to provide guidance and inspiration.  Without them, what will we do?

My first subscription to the magazine was back in 2000, when I started crafting for my son’s teachers and family members.  The hard copy was amazing.  Tons of inspiration on each page.

I love learning about different techniques and what supplies I needed to buy.   I regret not submitting any of my projects for publication.  I use to say next time.  My mom used to say don’t put off what you can do today for tomorrow.  Those words are so powerful now, because I will never have the opportunity to do it now.

So I’m here to send my warmest thank you for such an awesome publication.

Take a look at the card I created for this hop:

Thank you and farewall

I went with clean and simple with a white on white look with a pop of color.

So what do you think?  I really love how the ink is coming from the top left and spilling down to the thanks die cut.  I chose blue because that’s how I feel but this card is far from sad.

I just want to say THANK YOU to Paper Craft and Scrapbooking Magazine, and all of the people who worked to bring us a fantastic magazine.  THANK YOU, for feeding my addiction to craft making.  You will be truly missed.  What are we suppose to do without?

The next person on this hop is Jess Moyer!! You will love what she has in store for you.

Before you go, check out this video Bethany Stellpflug put together.
