I Love Back To School, Do You?

Hello everyone!  I’m here today with the DoubleClick Skittles Back to School Challenge!!  This will be so much fun!

I love back to school.  I love new paper, pencils, pens, notebook, glue, OMG I love everything.

This is our second challenge and I wanted to say to everyone who participate in the first, Thank You so much.

This challenge runs for two weeks.  This is the second of the two.  So, you have one week before the challenge ends.

Now on to my card for this challenge:

Skittles Back to School

My daughter has her first male teacher this year so I wanted to make sure my projects were male centered.  This is challenging to me since I’m so use to making cute girly things, lol.

Want to know how to make this card, well here’s how you do it:

1. I cut my card stock so that is measures an A2 size card (4-1/4 x 5-1/2 scored at 5-1/2).

2. I used my Big Shot and Stampin’ Up! Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to create the the texture on the front of my card.

3. I used my Project Life Lined Journaling Cards for the first time ever, LOL.  I love these little cards.  (I have no idea what my resistance was but its over.) I divert!

4. I stamped my crayon, glue, paintbrush and ink from the Sweet Stamp Shop Artsy Fartsy Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

5. I used my Copic Marker #G07, YR16, V17, B14, R27, G28, Y19, Y13, B12 to color in all of my images.  (I’m so happy about that.  I’m trying to practice my coloring.)

6.  I stamped my sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Hey Teacher Stamp Set using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

7. I added color to my apple using my Copic markers.

8. I adhered my journal card to my card base using foam adhesive.

9. I  added Wink of Stella to some of the embossed letters and numbers on my card base.

10. To really make my card pop, I added my Pumpkin Skittles to the four corners.

Here’s a close-up:

First for me…….

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today playing along with AAA Cards Challenge and the Muse Challenge #79.

I wanted to take this time to say Thank you so much to the ladies over at the Muse Challenge for choosing my card for Honorable Mention.  I really appreciate it. If you missed the card you can find it here.

Now on to this week’s challenges.  I had a lot of fun creating my project for these challenges.

AAAcardGame14

Muse VD

Both of these challenges used Water-coloring, which happens to be my favorite.  I decided to do something a little different then what your use to seeing.

I created a TAG!!!  Yes, a tag and its not on a card.  This was a bit of a challenge because my working area was smaller then a normal card size.  I wasn’t sure if I needed to fill all of the space or should I leave some empty areas.  It took me one hour to decided just on that.  LOL!!!

Take a look at my TAG:

Watercolor Thanks

To create this tag:

I used a piece of watercolor paper and my Koi watercolors to create my background.

I cut my tag using Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 1 Dies.

I cut my thank sentiment using Simon Says Stamps Thanks Die out of Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock 4 times from some dimension.

I used my Stampin’ Up! Bitty Butterfly Punch and Elegant Butterfly punch to punch out four butterflies, 2 from my scrap watercolor piece and 2 from Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock.

I added My Mind’s Eye White Enamel Dots to the center of the butterfly for detail and more contrast.

I punched a hole in the top of my tag using Stampin’ Up! 1/8″ Circle Handheld Punch.

I added 2 pieces of retired Stampin’  Up! ribbon and tied it with Stampin’ Up! Whisper White Bakers Twine.

Thats all!  Very easy and fun to do!! I hope you give it a try.  I will be making more tags from now on.

Nothing Is Impossible Today!

Hello everyone! Let me begin by saying Thank you to all of the lovely ladies over at the Muse for picking my dragon card last week as Featured Member.  Awesome!!

If you missed that card, you can check out the the announcement here.

So onto today’s news, I’m here today playing along with the Muse Challenge,  Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, Addicted to Stamps Challenge Blog today.  I’m so glad to be playing along with everyone this week.

The Muse this week was Bev Beunker!  Her card was full of colors.

Take a look at her card:

I love the sequin and the photo frame she used on her card so I knew I wanted to have the thing on my card.  I stuck to two main colors.

For Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge the theme is Anything Goes.

I received my cute Sweet Stamp Shop Elephant Heart stamp set this weekend so had to use it for this card.

Instead of placing my sequin on the outside panel of the card I wanted my photo frame from Stampin ‘ UP! On Film Framelit Die to be interactive so I decided to create a shaker card with sequin.

I stamped my elephant and the sentiment on to a piece of patten paper from Simon Says Stamp Card Kit for July 2014 Pink Paislee Pen Pals.

I used my Copic markers N4 and N5 to color in my elephant.

I die cut out the “today” from Papertrey Ink Wet Paint Cuts 2.

Nice, simple and easy.  No fuss with this card.

So what do you think? Let me know.

Hello everyone!! First let me begin by saying THANK YOU to all of the ladies over at CAS(E) this Sketch!

The card I create was a cute one, I must say.  The winner Semee, her card is truly amazing and her win was well deserved.  I might have to CASE her card.  I have to ask her. (I just did, waiting for a response, LOL).

Now on to the matter at hand.

I’m here with CAS(E) this Sketch #86.  Today sketch was done by Sam Simpson.  Its simple and pretty.

Here is my card:

Thinking Of You

The strip of pattern paper is from Bo Bunny which was in my Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit.

I used Papertrey Ink’s Life is Beautiful Die set to cut my butterfly out of Simon Says Stamp Cardstock that came in the August Card Kit, Sunshine and Orange Peel.

I used Papertrey Ink’s Keep It Simple: Thinking of You Mini Stamp set to stamp my sentiment three times with Papertrey Ink’s Summer Sunrise Ink Pad.

For the add touch I added Stampin’ Up! rhinestone to the butterfly wings.

What do you think?  Let me know.

Cute! Who, Me?

Hello everyone! I’m back today after all of the great news I had to share this week.  Back to work for me!!

I’m here today with the Muse Challenge #77.  The Muse this week is Marion Vagg.  Her card this week is so cute and simple.

Take a look at Marion Vagg Card:

I love her owl!  I do not own an owl stamp set, I look high and low, and my stash doesn’t contain an owl.  I couldn’t believe that.  I must get one.

So I went for my brand new stamp the Dragon from Sweet Stamp Shop.

Take a look:

Cute Dragon

Yes, isn’t this dragon the cutest little monster you ever saw!

Can you believe I colored him.  Yes, I took out my Copic Markers and sat and colored.  I need to do that more often.  It was so relaxing.  I need more colors too. I used BG49, Y19 and E37.

I colored my Stampin’ Up! rhinestones with a Copic Marker, Y19.  I wanted to use black enamel dots but ran out of them and I’m glad I did.  I think the yellow color looks so much better since its the same color of the dragons belly.

I thought I was done then, but realized I wanted to add and black frame around my dragon.  So I used my Copic Multi-Liner to create the boarder.

I wanted my card to be as CAS as possible so, I keep everything to the minimal.

What do you think?  I think my little dragon came out so cute!  Yes, you!!

Flowers…

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today playing with the Muse Challenge #76.  I missed it last week.  I created a card but didn’t get a chance to post it.  So I wanted to make sure I get this week’s card in.

This week’s Muse is Therese Calvird.  Take a look at her card.

friends

This challenge was a little difficult for me because I hardly create cards with flowers on it.  I have the hardest time placing the flowers or even building them.

I gave it a try this go round and I’m ok with the results.  I’m not in love with it but I think its a good start.

Take a look at my card:

Hey you are my favorite

I used Simon Says Stamp Favorite Flowers Stamp Set to create my flower bed.

I used Papertrey Ink Summer Sunrise ink and Hero Arts Green Hills Shadow Ink.

I tried to make this card as simple as I could because I really don’t know how flowers should look on a card.

Please let me know what you think, good or bad.

Do You See Spots and Dots?

Hello everyone! I’m here today playing along with Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

wed-newchallenge-headerThis week the challenge is SPOTS AND DOTS!

This was a fun challenge to play with.  At first I wondered what in the world to do.  I wasn’t sure want to make that has spots and dots.

I pondered for a while.

Take a look at my card:

HB spots and dots

I looked at my stash, then remembered I needed to make a birthday card for someone special this coming Saturday so I decided to use my Simon Says Stamp Balloon dies.

Once I made that decision, I looked on Pinterest for some inspiration.  I immediately saw balloons with spots.  So I knew I would create spots on my balloon.

To do that, I use my Simon Says Stamp Medium Dots Stencil and Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste to create my white spots on my balloon.

To create my spots, I used my Stampin’ Up! Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

I added some Stampin’ Up! White Bakers Twine to bottom of my ballon and tied a bow.

For my sentiment, I wanted to add a pop of color so I decided on red, that surely would pop, lol.  I used Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday Die Cut to create my sentiment.

So what do you think?

Let me know. I would love to hear from you.

Are You Enjoying Your Journey?

Hello everyone!  I’m here today with CAS(E) this sketch #85.  This week’s sketch is from N@Ali.  I love this sketch, its clean and simple.

CTS_85

Take a look at my card:

Enjoy the Journey 2

I love how this card turned out.  It has the CAS factors.  One focal point, one sentiment, little embellishments and a lot of white space!

I used my brand new Life’s Journey stamp set and Super Geotag die from Simon Says Stamp’s new release called This Is The Life.

I love this new set.  Life really is journey that we are on and we have no clue were we will end up.  There are times when we set our path and something happens that take of off that path.  Its up to you to get back on path no matter how hard it might, but we MUST enjoy the journey or it will not be worth it.

So what do you think?  Please let me know by leaving a comment below.

Who Do You Feel Strongly About?

Hello everyone!  I’m here today with Casology week 104.  The Cue Card is Pet!! I’m also linking this card to Addicted to Stamps and their challenge is CLEAN AND SIMPLE (CAS).

Week 104 - Pet

Addicted to Stamps

When I first saw the word I immediately thought of a pet animal.  I figured everyone would choose that so I decided to look up the meaning of the word “pet” to see what else it means.

I decided to go with pet as an adjective: to feel particularly strongly about someone or something.

Take a look at my card:

Love you with heartss

Nothing like a father’s love for his only daughter!

I decided to do a one layer card with a lot of white space, one focal point and a sentiment, CLEAN AND SIMPLE (CAS) at its best.

My Koala’s are from my new Sweet Stamp Shop Koala stamp set and my sentiment and hearts are from Lawn Fawn’s Love You Tons stamp set.

I used my Copic markers #B12, B14, #R20, R24 and C3.

I wanted to color with my Copic’s for practice.  I need to color more often. I want to master this skill.

This was my first card but I didn’t like how the sentiment “little sister” turned out but I wanted to share it with you.

Plus the belly is blue and not pink.

Love you little sister

Hello….

Hello everyone!!  I’m here with CAS(E) this sketch #84. I only have 8 hours to post this card.

CTS_Sketch84

I created a one layer card. I wanted to keep it very simple.

Take a look at my card:

Hello(Sorry about the photo, no natural lighting it is 1:26 in the am)

Edited to include this better photo at 6:30am

Hello2

My card is pretty clean and simple.  I used there Stampin’ Up! colors to create my card, crisp cantaloupe, pistachio pudding and basic black.

The sentiment is from Stampin’ Up! Hi There stamp set.

The scallops are from Papertrey Ink’s Ombre Builders stamp set.

1. I masked 1inch of space at the top of the card using the post-it tape.

2. I stamped my image 1/8 from the top and bottom of the post-it tape.

3. I removed the tape and added my sentiment.

4. I added rhinestones and WALA my card is done!!
